Start was a bit of a treasure hunt. The place had relocated but most things found on-line showed the old agrees so after an hour of searching my college adult son figured it out and dialed us in to the location out front of the Fox Cave. The prices were reasonable and for me being active duty military it was free admission. The displays were in 5 separate building with my personal favorite the building with all the Lincoln County war memorabilia with Pat Garret, Billy the Kid, etcetera. Another building had Apache cultural and historical information and artifacts. Another building had famous actors and musicians stuff, for example a tux and belt that Elivis Presley had worn. A final building had aliens I guess to play on Roswell infamy.

I really liked this store. Purchased a few things and spoke to the very friendly employee. Some bizarre goods, nice jewelry, and interesting souvenirs. They had a lot of beads that were at very good prices.

Moved to fox cave so my lady and I went there. It was horrible. Tourist trap. The front desk lady was odd in A bad way. Nothing but gimmicks for sale.

What an amazing little museum! There is so much stuff that it is beyond grasping. There is an incredibly large amount of information on Billy the Kid in the basement. In contrast, there are souvenirs of movie stars in one section upstairs. The best part was that it was neat, clean and tidy. The stairs alone are worth the trip itself.

The person running the museum obviously didn't want to be bothered by guests. The admission fee seemed high for what was in the museum. The outside of the building looks great, but the inside doesn't reflect much care. The exhibits were poorly displayed, and the whole place was very poorly lit. It was a hodge-podge of just stuff. There were many beauty queen crowns, and I don't know exactly what those had to do with the history of Lincoln County or Ruidoso It wasn't really worth stopping for, and I won't return.
