This theater is both historic and beautiful and opened in 1927. It was designed by Carl Boller, a Kansas City architect, in the extravagant Art Deco-Pueblo Revival Style. The exterior is beautiful and available to see any day of the week. The interior is unlike any other theater in the United States. It has been extensively restored and updated so that the seats are comfortable and the sound system top notch. If you can, attend an event. If you can't, try to see if you can get a tour on certain Saturdays (not all Saturdays). In my opinion, this theater is the very coolest building in Albuquerque.

This place is Amazing! I love these historic and elegant movie theatres. But even in this league KiMo is really up high. Just visit it any time you can.

This theatre in the downtown heart of Albuquerque has had a recent renovation - return to original art work and marque. Beautiful! One of a kind building to see whether attending an event or just walking thru.

A first time visit to the Kimo Theatre is good and bad. You will be so interested and enthralled by the Navajo Art Deco art you may miss the beginning of the concert. this theatre is a gem and quite unique. Small, intimate and always excellent value for money.

We were by ourselves in the KiMo, on a self-guided tour on a Saturday afternoon. Wish we could've caught a film, too, but we were a little early for screenings. It is really worth taking a few minutes to soak up some of the history of this beautiful old building.
