A real mix of plays and musicals. The best designs of any theatre in town. Beautiful theatre space in a new building. Great concessions and super comfortable seats.

This is the NMSU theater company. They regularly put on two plays each semester. The theater is new as of Fall 2012. It has orchestra, mezzanine, and balcony seating. All seats are the same price--now $14 for seniors and faculty, more for others. The current play is "Red" about Mark Rothko. It is done without intermission and features just two actors--one playing Mark Rothko, the other playing his (fictional) assistant. The play is essentially a discussion about the nature of art and its meaning. The actor who plays Mark Rothko did seem to stumble over his lines a couple of times. The girl who played his assistant did fine, however, she only has a limited number of lines until nearer to the end.
