keyhole state park

We camped at Keyhole State Park while on our way to explore Devil's Tower, and all had a great experience during our stay! Our campsite was a great tent site right along a rocky point on the shore of the reservoir that offered great fishing and swimming access. I was also very pleased with the staff and the service at the marina. The margaritas were a great value and the perfect refreshment after a very warm day of kayaking on the reservoir. On Saturday night a live country-rock cover band performed out on the dock of the marina and there was a great atmosphere and mix of people enjoying the evening.

We loved visiting Keyhole State Park, it was one of our favorite destination spots and we spent a great deal of time there.

We had nice RV & Tent sites close to each other. We were there 4 nights. The lake was nice & full. Since it's a reservoir, there is not a beach, which makes it difficult to get in & out of the water. Would come here again if in the area.....

Nice sites and bathhouse. Antelope wander through the camp sites! too far from the lake unless you want to drive to beach

We stayed for one night after dropping in on the off chance, and what a gem this place is. Nice and quiet, we had a large site for our RV with electricity and water (dump station at the main gate), and a view of the lake through the trees. It wasn't crowded whilst we were there, so very little people noise. A nice easy two mile return walk to the old motel site. Would stay here again.

The park Rangers at this place are looking for nothing more than to hand out citations. One of the rangers was driving around all night and would not stop bothering us looking for something to give us a ticket for. It was just his luck we were doing nothing wrong and he had nothing to ticket us for. I think they send thier new guys here to patrol and they get bored. Look out if you are going to plan on going here and prepare to be harrassed!!

We stopped by Keyhole State Park to camp for the night while traveling back east from Yellowstone. The campsite we had was nice and on the lake. However, this park has no facilities for campers other than a "drop" toilet. There was no running water and it was priced as high as campgrounds with full amenities.

Stopped in on our way home from Yellowstone Park, and am I glad we did! We reserved a campsite on line without knowing much about this place, and when we finally found it, the place was awesome! I think it is 6 - 10 miles off the interstate, but the beauty and tranquility made the short drive well worth it. It is a reservoir lake, as so many are, but the shores by Tatanka campground were lined with trees on one side, and granite cliffs on the other. We had a travel trailer, and our site had electricity and water, no sewer, but there was a free dump station at the front gate, with water for rincing etc. Camp ground was full, so having a reservation is a must, especially on a weekend. Don't be fooled as you try to find this place by the farmland surrounding the southern end of the lake, once inside the park it is a whole different world. Our site was treed, level, and had a fire ring and picnic table as well. The other campers were mostly locals out for a weekend of fun and boating/skiing/fishing. One fellow we talked with even offered to take our group of 4, out on his pontoon boat, to see the lake, and take us down to the dam. Unfortunatly we were leaving, but it was a generous offer! If travelling near this state park I highly reccommend spending a nite or two there, We will plan to stay there on our next trip to the area. Bring all you need for your stay, as there is a marina with some convienience items, but not much for groceries. Enjoy!

Been going there since I was a child and it has only gotten better. Now I take my children there. Great place to picnic, swim, boat, camp or just relax.

Easy to get lost both approaching the park and once you're in it.

The best thing about Keyhole is it is large and largely unpopulated during the middle of the week. If you come skiing in the middle of the week you may have the entire lake to yourself. They might be some fisherman you would want to stay away from otherwise the water is yours

отличное место для отдыха. Ничего лишнего, природа, палатка и настроение и ничего больше по идее и не нужно) Мне понравилось, я бы вернулась туда ещё раз отдохнуть.
