I love that it's hands on and do educational. The staff is polite and helpful. The planetarium is great. It is a little hard to find.

We are sorry that your visit to the Discovery Center was unsatisfactory. We do realize that each exhibit and Space Theater show will not appeal to ALL audiences. We carefully select our exhibits by listening to feedback from visitors, our members, the community, and our staff members. The great news is that we change out both our home exhibits and our traveling exhibits about every 3 months so that there is always something new to discover! We also show Space Theater shows every hour during business hours, and each one is different. You may always check our website before visiting to see which exhibits we have on display (each includes a description) and see our Space Theater show schedule and descriptions of each show. Visit dhdc.org for all of this information and more. We do hope that you visit again and give us an opportunity to earn back your business. Thank you for your feedback! Sarah SilvaMarketing Manager

I have visited the DHDC several times in years past. Coming in from out of town with an accompanying guest, I was trying to show attractions that made the area interesting to visit.Upon entering (an hour and 10 minutes prior to the center closing), the employee at the counter couldn't be bothered by customers - he quickly wrung us up, telling us it was $22 (a Massive price increase), however, didn't feel the need to tell us what all we were entitled to with this purchase. Reading the signs for ourselves, we realized there were 2 sides to the center - a mammoth-type exhibit and a Sherlock Holmes Mystery adventure. We went with the later, reading through clues and trying to figure out a centuries old "who-done-it", only to be confronted at the conclusion, by a sign that told us we needed to go to the front desk to learn the outcome. What a let down! We spent 30 minutes walking through and reading everything, only to have to go back to the same employee that lacked customer service skills, at which point, we were told he had only one copy of the answer book, and he could let us see that or just tell us.We tried to make the best of a bad situation and walked to the mammoth "exhibit". Aside from about 4 or 5 electronic depictions of enlarged animals, there was absolutely NOTHING to see. This area used to contain several hands-on activities for children and grown-ups alike. Now it looks like a blank area they are just trying to fill with whatever they can. The Rube Goldberg machine was even broken. There was no sign attached indictating this however, so we stood there (along with several other patrons) disappointedly trying to figure out what was going on.As we departed, we felt we should tell the "friendly" employee that the machine was broken. He responded by telling us that he was aware of this, as was the center, however, the person they had to repair it was unavailable at the time. Would it have been so hard as to include some sort of sign? Possibly letting people know it was under construction, etc?In summary, the price charged for this lack luster experience has cemented in my mind, as well as my guest's, that this is not a place we would like to visit again, anytime soon. The price should have been discounted or at the very least, customer service should have been increased.

I took my two grandsons while we were in town waiting for doctors appointment. They were only 2 and 4; but they loved it.

Lots of fun! Different things each month. Very kid oriented, this can be a negative because sometimes boring for adults.

Went here with our 15-yr old, 10-yr old, and my parents and we all had a great time. It's not real big, but it has a lot of very interesting and unique hands on exhibits that are fun for all. Was pretty impressed at the quality and level of the displays here. This is definitely a great place to see if you're in Amarillo...for ALL ages!!

The Discovery Center definitely has things for the little ones to occupy themselves and because they host new exhibits, there is always another reason to visit. Our fist visit was when an interactive Dino exhibit was on and we've been Members ever since. The membership is for a year and begins the date you signed up. Look up their web site and you'll see the pricing because it's definitely the way to go if you think you'll visit more than once a year. There's definitely adult exhibits too and if you become a member you'll be able to get a first look during an evening adults only visit. The surrounding park keeps the kiddo's occupied before and after visits too.

The Discovery Center is fun for children and adults both. Exhibits change regularly and there is always something for everyone there.

We love coming to the Discovery Center for all of the great hands on exhibits. Everything is very informational and fun. They have great adult activities too, like Beerology, that are a blast.

We went to this on a fluke to escape the heat. It was incredible! Between the planetarium shows every hour, the hands on activities, and the workers with all the different creatures - it was a huge success. Highly recommended for kids of all ages. (there is even a spot for littles to play)

My kids and I had a blast. Everything is educational and hands on. They love playing with the Legos. It's the perfect place for kids who wanna touch.

This is a good place to take the kids. Very interactive for them. All of our kids liked it, and they are teenagers.

My kids (age 2 and 5) love the Discovery Center! They have rotating exhibits, so it seems like there is always something new to explore. They have areas for toddlers, preschoolers, and big kids. There are even some evening events for adults. If you want to avoid busloads full of kids on field trips, go at about 2 in the afternoon.
