bob wills museum

Pretty interesting piece of history. Museum has a lot of artifacts from days gone by. Turkey also hosts the Bob Wills Music Festival during the last weekend of each April.

Actually I visited this a few years ago, but tripadvisor.com doesn't give the option of selecting more than a year back. I confess I am not a Bob Wills fan, but, I am a huge music fan, and I love history, so I was drawn to this place. I thought the Bob Wills Museum was fun. Try to grab a copy of the book by his daughter if they still sell it. Full of stories, she is pretty candid about her father's life story. The museum is small, of course; it's Turkey, Texas....everything is small. But if it's open, give this little gem your time. It doesn't cost much and won't take long.

It is hard to have an interesting museum about one person. Turkey does their best, but . . . Bob Wills day (and weekend) in April is the time to be there.

We stopped by the Bob Wills Museum in Turkey, Texas and by luck they were open that day to host a lunch and museum visit for Asleep At The Wheel. It was really cool!! The museum is very nice and had lots of Bob Wills history. Every western swing fan should put this museum on their list of must dos!!!
