Not just gorgeous but also very educational! The tour guide definitely did his homework - we learned a lot during that almost 2 hr trip and enjoyed being a part of a small group. This is definitely one great adventure for all ages.

Our family loves to explore caves and this cave had the BEST popcorn formations and the most beautiful rooms we've ever seen! We were sad that because of someones lack of respect of property, we were unable to fully appreciate the world famous "butterfly" formation that was the only known one of its kind . We saw the half wing but still a bummer someone had to break it! This was defiantly a trip worth taking!

I am not much of a cave person. My husband was interested in going here and I agreed. I'm glad I did! I was also leery because we found out the tour was over 1 1/2 hours. I couldn't imagine it being that interesting for that long.I was wrong and I found the time flew. Our guide was great. Very informative. Let my husband bring up the rear since he was taking tons of pictures. I learned so much. It is truly awe-inspiring.Because it is over 1 1/2 hours, and you can't touch anything, I can't see bringing young children on this tour. And the caverns do get very warm. Just some considerations. We really enjoyed it.

We have a large RV with tow vehicle behind and needed a place to stay for the night. We thought it would be nice to see the caverns the next morning. Be sure you gas up on interstate 10, as there were people at campground who were extremely low on fuel and they needed diesel....The campground was very poor. No sewer, but that is to be expected, out in the middle of no where. But the electricity and water hook ups were so antiquated, we used out generator out of fear our electrical system would take a hit. The water was fair. Definitely not worth the $20.The birds, peacocks and other animals were a plus.Caverns were great, almost a 2 mile walk. We visited on a very nice warm day, so the cool caverns were a relief. Guy who gave us a tour, was okay. The price of $20 for the cavern tour, was a bit pricey in our eyes. They have a very small and limited cafe inside, seating is outside only.

Glad I finally visited the caverns. Awesome formations to view on the tour. I was very pleasantly surprised. The surrounding grounds are relaxing with lots of birds, deer, swallows, peacocks, etc. They also have a campground.

Over the years my wife and I have visited a number of different Caverns and although these are small compared to some, they were still very interesting. We went on the long guided tour and the guide we had was very knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions that we had. If you take the long tour you should be ready to walk down 150+ feet down, as there are no elevators to take you. Once you are in the caverns the walk is rather easy but there are a number of stairs that you have to climb. The tour guide we had was very accommodating and waited for us old folks when we had difficulty keeping up with the young people. In addition to the caverns there is a very nice campgrounds attached to it. The price to stay over night was very reasonable and the sites, although not large were pull thru and long enough to accommodate our 39 foot motor home and tow vehicle. If you are looking for a nice days outing and are in the area, it is worth the trip.

Thankfully the people who work there let us know that it was quite warm in the caverns and that we should dress appropriately. We had a wonderful tour guide who was very knowledgeable. The caverns were well worth seeing and we enjoyed the 2 1/2 hours it took us to see everything.

two miles of underground rooms; each with their own unique features! Unbelievable formations like a crystalline butterfly and five foot long soda straws. Groups are small (around 12) Guides are knowledgeable and informative! For hiking two miles consideration is given for rest breaks and attention to the well being of all!

My husband and I stopped here on our cross country trip. It's not far from I-10, and a nice little walk to stretch our legs. Our tour guide was Dee and we only had one other couple on our tour so we were able to move through fairly quickly and see a couple extra places, which was a fun bonus! Dee was an excellent guide - very knowledgeable and friendly. Overall an excellent experience. The caves are just breathtaking!

Visited in Nov, 2014, motivated by many positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Very disappointed in the cave--small, few samples of stalagmites, etc. More disappointing was the tour leader, Nick, who showed little enthusiasm or creativity, and provided little information. His main theme throughout was 'watch your head, watch your step.' Tour was boring. Overpriced at $20, worth perhaps half that price.

I am not much of a cave person. I came away impressed. The guided tour was led by a lady who new her stuff and made it fun. Hard to describe the interior apart from beautiful. Well worth the money.

My family and I visited, and I have to say, we enjoy caves, but I was expecting an average cave--enjoyable, but nothing we hadn't really seen before. Wow, were we pleasantly surprised! This cave is absolutely stunning. I've never seen so much cave popcorn anywhere else. The walls are almost entirely covered. Almost every room took our breath away. We got a truncated tour with Betsy, and she was fantastic! We arrived a bit late for the last tour of the day (the regular tour takes about 2 hours, so don't get there after 3:00 if you want a full tour). The length was actually perfect for us, though. A word of caution--there are a lot of deer in the area, so be very careful as you drive to and from I-10.

If you enjoy visiting caves, you must see this one. It is small by most standards but what may be lacking in quantity is surpassed by its quality. The owners do a wonderful job of protecting this natural resource by keeping the lights off most of the time which helps keep the formations in pristine condition. This is rare in caves open to the public. You will not be sorry if you stop in Sonora for a couple hours at the cavern plus if you are on Interstate 10, the break will invigorate you.

Never have we seen such wonderful and varied cave structures a gem of a place and well worth the visit .There are steps 360 of them and some steepish climbs (though only short) . Luckily we were told before we went in that it gets very hot and humid in the caves so take note.
