We have been traveling to a ranch outside of Sanderson for many years and finally took the time to check out Sanderson instead of just driving through. The curator of this museum was very knowledgeable and interesting. We got to hear about Sanderson in its glory days when the railroad came through in the late 1800's.The town had a hotel, pharmacy, fancy shops, a saloon and more. This Wild West town had its share of shoot outs and infamous train robbers. The museum is in a Victorian house built in 1907 by W. H. Lemons. Lemons was the first County Clerk. Today there is not much going on in Sanderson but this place is full of West Texas history. We really enjoyed talking to CW and will stop in next time !
