square house museum

We were in the area and decided to stop in and visit the Square House Museum. It was worth the visit for a history buff like me. Lot of stuff of little interest but a things few that had serious interest to me. Spread out a little and you have go outside from building to building. Weather could be a minor factor (not walking that far between them).

Always a good place to visit with kids. Love the exhibits. It is good to revisit the past. The little Chapel is a nice touch.

The people of Carson County can be very proud of the Square House Museum! They have done an amazing job of gathering the history of the county, from early artifacts to photographs, to railroad cars and an ancient paddy wagon! They even moved the Conway Community Church to their site, and still have occasional services and funerals there. The entire county only has 6000 people, and so that makes their accomplishments even more outstanding!
