Never a boring walk. Birds, deer and squirrels pop up frequently. The river is always changing. Nice peaceful walk. Do it daily!

This is a nice park with lots of trails and areas for fishing on the lake. This is not a park so much for small kids, though, as it does not have any play area.

If you are a birder, this park, especially in the spring is a great place to visit. Paths are well marked and there are some raised wood walkways. Dogs welcome.

Go all the way down Kingwood Drive - it dead end's into East End. There are super cool trails. I feel safe. Sometimes you see people while walking or biking, sometimes you are all alone. Check it out - you will like it. It hugs Lake Houston so watch out for gators if you are walking your dog(s).

I love this park and walk or ride my bike here often. The park is one of the ones owned by the Kingwood community so you must be a resident and have a Kingwood sticker on your car or risk being towed. It is located at the back of Kingwood at the far east end of Kingwood drive, thus the name. There are several trails that loop around with options to explore in many directions. Most of the trails are made of level crushed gravel and are comfortable to walk on but also wheelchair and stroller friendly. Bike riding is fun, just be careful on corners not to slide in the gravel; the big meadow also has trails that offer a bit more of an unpaved trail bike route. There are several picnic tables along the trails as well as benches to sit and enjoy the surroundings. You can fish from the banks and also see many types of local wildlife. There are many very cool trees, some that are twisted into weird shapes and some very large pine and oak trees. It is only open from sunrise to sunset. but it is available every day of the year. While Houston does have a leash law there seems to be more flexibility here for well behaved dogs to be off leash, just be aware of the wildlife that lives there. My favorite time to visit is on a cold day with a bit of drizzle, no one else is there!
