our lady of guadalupe catholic church

We attended this church for a family baptism and were very disappointed that the acoustics were so poor we couldn't understand anything the deacon was saying throughout the Mass. Also, there were 6 baptisms going on simultaneously which was very impersonal. The first was an infant girl who was immersed naked in the cold water. The remaining 5 children were boys ranging from newborn to toddler who then had this water poured onto their heads. The immersion should have been done last in the event that this baby urinated in the cold water. And the water should have been sufficiently warmed for that baby and the other children. And then one of the children wasn't even permitted to wear the baptism gown that the family brought along. This was the worst baptism I have ever witnessed.

Such a unique and beautiful church. Don't know if they still do it, but they used to have some services outdoors. I"m sure it's 'cos of the beauty of the area.

Located in Helotes, this is my daughter's parish. She was married in this church, it is a bright open airy church and the parishoners are always welcoming.
