Vetro has been at the Old Depot train area in Grapevine for a long time. It is a must see when visiting Grapevine. You can watch the artisans make the beautiful glass or purchase some already made. It is a very fine arts studio.

I was fortunate enough to visit Vetro when they were offering a make your own hand blown glass ornament event. The artists do the hard part and you assist with a bit of hands on. It was, however, one of my favorite things in Grapevine. I picked my colors (blue, green & white like the sea), and had hands-on for the heating process. The artist took over when it was time to actually blow the glass and shape it into a beautiful ornament. The ornament has to cool down overnight, but Vetro shipped the ornament to my home. It arrived safely packaged and is a great reminder of my time in Grapevine.

Our Last day in the USA with a 10pm flight so we decided to visit Grapevine Historic area as it is not far from the international airport. Very hot day (July) So we did'nt get to take in the beautiful Town totally but stopped by the Vetro Glass and was really happy we did. watched the guys create a beautiful bowl from start to finish. was totally interesting. we watched from the stepped seating and there was a Q&A at the end. Staff were friendly and I can say we througouly enjoyed visiting here. Nice town and not far from the Grapevine Mills Mall which has excellent shopping

If you go in at 1PM you can sign up to "help" make a glass flower or bowl. Lots of fun, educational and if you are into making jewelry they even have a table you can purchase some gorgeous glass pieces at very cheap prices! I chose a flower and had it shipped home - it arrived safe and sound!

I went into Vetro because I had some time before I met with friends. I really enjoyed watching the employees make glass flowers and bowls for people. Although the layout was very straight forward (it is a working shop), it was comfortable and very friendly. The staff even took some time to answer some basic questions that I had. I hope to go back soon and maybe take one of their classes.

My family went here and found the glassblowing so intriguing! Even our teenager loved it and even used her own money to purchase a glass object, that says a lot!October during the weekday is when we went and it was so wonderful as there were no crowds and the studio was not hot as we expected fom the many ovens they have going. Kevin and Mitch put on quite an informative and fun show to watch and answered the questions we all had. There was even a guy there with 3 young children and even the baby was enthralled with the process. This is a must do again for our family and hopefully there will be an anniversary purchase from here in the near future. :)

I would not visit in July or August because it would be way too hot :)However, around Christmas, Vetro has beautiful handblown glass things for the artsy people on your list. Wine bottle stoppers, vases, glass bed earrings. Have you ever seen the handblown glass ceiling sculpture in the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas? If you have the money to spare, they can make you a similar glass ceiling sculpture for your palace here. Rumor has it, you can even take a class and learn to blow glass well enough to make your own Christmas ornament which is something I very badly want to do. Not good for young children because... well glass is breakable. :) Free glass blowing demonstrations available to the public. They have bleacher style seating available so a mini skirt should not be your chosen attire for the day if you plan on attending the free demonstration.

Their special events are a blast - get on their email mailing list. Staff is extremely friendly. I bought classes for a family member here and he loved every minute of it - not cheap but worth every penny.
