Easy to get on the course for weekday twilight play. Affordably priced and wide fairways for the less experienced player. A good value.

We play Buckhorn every year during our annual Hill Country retreat. Except for weather related issues it has never fail to treat us with a solid golf experience. Some of the holes will test the best of golfers. The scenery of the surrounding Hill Country area is great. Green conditions vary mostly due to winter freezes but generally very solid.

Course has been in better shape in past. Greens are still nice, but fairways are brown and the hard as a rock tee boxes need work. Pro shop was uninformed about daily specials and course supervision is totally non-existent. Stuck behind a rude twosome totally ignorant about proper golf manners who forced us and everyone else behind us to wait on every shot for almost 18 full holes (in spite of 2+ open holes in front of them by the end) while one gave lessons to the other, and the clueless "marshal" (who drove around but didn't do squat) was zero help in enforcing pace of play. Could be a nice little course with better maintenance, better personnel, and some actual course supervision. Foresight Golf needs to pay much closer attention to this course if they expect it to do well.

Played here with wife. Great condition WIDE fairways. Price is Right. Close to I-10. Staff and clubhouse very friendly and relaxed. We are full time RVers and play golf every week at a differentcourse and really enjoyed the atmosphere.

I have played there twice and each time it has been fun. Not long, but challenging. The greens are good! The only reading for four states it's that all of the refreshments are a bit pricey. The staff was just fine, practice area was great and the clubhouse and carts were clean. Clean bathrooms too. We are planning our next trip there now. Love the pear threes, not cookie cutter, each is different and require a variety of clubs. Sand traps were consistent and nowyou know where iI hit the ball!

Reasonably priced course. Open layout. Hilly/rolling terrain. No hidden holes. Greens were in nice shape. Good value. Lots of power lines running through the course but enjoyed it.

Course is relativily easy to play and is usually in very good shape. Holes are interestly designed and fun to play. Also the price is right and most of the time the course is not crowded. Don't expect much help from the staff because they are unpleasant and snippy. In spite of that, playing this course will be a good experience.

We played here on a Sunday in January and weredisappointed that they had not over seeded the teesand fairways. Several other Foresight courses have been over seeded. The course is in pretty bad condition. The fairways are all dry and as hard as concrete in many places. The greens are green tinted by artificial methods, but they are the best feature of a disappointing landscape. The two club house employees were friendly, but we never saw the starter nor any Marshall here. Fortunately, the course played quickly because manygolfers were watching the NFL playoffs. We have played here many times since the Buckhorn has opened and it's usually in good shape. This is a decent but not very difficult test of golf. The greens keeper should get more watering on this tract as the spring growing season progresses.

My son and I played for fathers day. They obviously have new staff....and a new greens keeper! Fathers day and the bunkers were not raked....Every green had some sort of disease....and you are paying a premium for a public course. I use to live in Comfort and played and hit balls here weekely. Back then (Mid 2000's) the course was impeccable! Now...not so much. I was very happy to see water on the course. I'm in the Air Force and have been gone for 4 years.....Not the same course at all... I will not be going back anytime soon. The bunkers were horrible. IF IT RAINS....YOU HAVE TO RAKE THE BUNKERS AFTER IT DRIES...ALL I CAN SAY IS KRUSTY!

My guess is the guy who found it horrible with rude snooty people finds that everywhere he goes. You won't find that at the Buckhorn and I have been playing there for years.

My experiences at the Buckhorn have always been great! It has it all. Elevated tees on par threes, an all uphill (mostly into the wind) par 5, plenty of water and great risk/reward chances. The greens are always in great shape and undulating. Pin placement can be difficult (on crown of hump, back position on front to back sloping green). My nemisis is #17. A 125 par three surrounded by bunkers and an undulating green. The staff are always friendly and willing to work- in singles. Come on out and play!
