caudalie crest farm & vineyard

My family decided to do a one-day stay cation on the 5th of July and visit local wineries we have never gone to. We were recommended to visit this winery by another nearby vineyard. We were lucky to have spectacular weather and a wonderful drive on country roads just north of where we live - (who new?) and the whole point of the stay cation. We drove in to the winery and had a wonderful visit with Ray and Sue Verril (owners). Very relaxed and fun to meet the vineyard owners. We lived in N. California for years and the same hospitality was evident here as it was there - but with a TX twist y'all. We sampled wines and visited and chatted - and then got a goat milk cheese plate to nibble on as we sipped. Sue as several pygmy Nigerian goats and makes a limited amount of artisan cheese. Wow was it good and we took home 2 containers with herbs mixed in - like boursin. Got a nice bottle of wine to go wtth our cheese which we enjoyed later as we savored the memories of the day.
