We stopped in here for a Lone Star on a recent Friday afternoon as we were day-tripping through the Hill Country and Highland Lakes area. It wasn't busy at all on a Friday afternoon, though we have driven by on Saturdays and there were a lot more people there. We sat out on the back deck and enjoyed a beer and admired the view of the surrounding hills and of course the dam. The bartender and what few other patrons were there were very friendly. Everyone says this place has the best burgers, so we'll definitely have to make another trip out to give them a try.

By far the best hamburger I ever had. A rustic unique place with an open side(in season) to view the dam. Very friendly staff. Older bikers and the neighborhood crowd frequent the place. They have many events, some to help charities. Good live music at times. Sexy barmaids, great burgers, cold draft beer, neat atmosphere, caterers to bikers- just a great place. Only criticism, they need more kitchen help.

We tried this place on the recommendation of a friend and local. Exceeded expectations. The owners are friendly and courteous. Although it may have been intended as a biker bar, and the parking in front is motorcycles only, forget the cliche and order a hamburger. Park in back, plenty of good parking. Sit at the bar on the inside, facing the patio and the expansive views of the hill country and Buchanan Dam. And dam it, order a burger. The 1/2 pound is too much for all but the most ravenous, but's that is the smallest size. The fries were crispy outside, soft inside. Burgers are on fresh, slightly sweet, home made buns. BEEF is what the burger is all about - and I seriously doubt it was a mere 1/2 pound! Fresh vegetables, served in a plastic tray with paper. No frills. Had a glass of decent Chardonnay, hubby had a Lone Star. Time to go - in the evening before the sun sets. A cool breeze was blowing, the light was beautiful over the hills, it was quiet and relaxing. Not exactly the place you would take the kiddos on a crowded day, as it IS a bar. Pool tables, long bar with stools, and they still allow smoking. (But with the breezes blowing thru, nobody noticed the smoke). However, several families were sitting on the covered deck out back, enjoying the evening and having a really good meal.Definitely a Texas Experience worthy of a return trip.
