Young kids (7 and under) will enjoy this place best. It's simple. It used to be more fun, but I think too many people have abused the buildings, so they've removed most of the fixtures within the buildings. My kids like to play hide-and-seek in the Texas shaped maze.

It's nice they made an effort and have a play area in here at all. The buildings are a good idea, but they are empty and not much to them. There's a cute little "grass" maze in the shape of texas that's a fun 5 minutes. Basically, it's nice if you're there, but I wouldn't make especial trip out just to see it. There are impeccably clean bathrooms though! A major plus!

My family and I live here in Allen,Tx and shop in Fairview on a regular basis. When the Caboose first opened we went and checked it out. Its a neat little play area for the kiddos, and they enjoyed it on thier first visit. It was neat for the little ones, and as they get older it wears off. I would say check it out if you have little kids under 7 or 8 once maybe twice. Keep in mind it gets a little crowded on nice weather weekends and the parking and play are not that large.

We even drive purposely here if our son asks for it, but especially if your shopping at The Village at Fairview or the Village at Allen, you should come here. It's located South of Stacey road in the Allen portion of the village and besides a real life train caboose that is stocked with building blocks and other toys, this play area has several miniature houses that children can enter like a bank, garage, etc. Oh, and there is a maze. The entire area is closed off with sturdy white picket fence and there's only one gate. So its very easy to let our children run around and take a seat on one of the benches or pick nick tables.Right next door to this play area is a small pavilion with a fireplace and clean bath rooms.Do note that from time to time the caboose gets rented out for private parties, making it off limits to others. But that has only happened once to us.
