I've been here twice, both times with only adults. We all enjoyed it! It's not just for kids. There are plenty of fun photo opportunities and the price is very reasonable. The staff is very kind and helpful. The location is easy to get to- both times I stopped here off the interstate while on road trips to other places. The gift shop is excellent as well! There's something for everyone. All of my friends still sport their Dinosaur Land t-shirts and hoodies. If you or your kids love dinosaurs, and/or you're looking for a stop on your road trip, definitely check out Dinosaur Land.

This roadside attraction has been going for over 50 years and has lost one of its appeal for young children. It is a fairly large collection of prehistoric animals stages in a small park. There is also a gift shop onsite. This is definitely worth a visit with children interested in dinosaurs...they will probably identify more of them than the adults will!

I've driven past this place all of my life And never stopped. We decided to take our 2 year old today. It was a fun 45 minutes. He had fun looking at all the dinosaurs and taking his photo with them. The gift shop is fun to browse also. Definitely worth a stop if you have young children.

The $5 admission allowed you to see 50 gigantic plaster dinosaurs in a park-like setting. My 3 year old was in heaven. The self-guided circuit of the grounds lasted about 45 minutes, counting pictures at every dinosaur. Beware- the gift shop is dangerous ground if you have kids. They will want and demand everything there.

We had a long drive, and I thought it would be fun to stop here with my grown son. I knew where I was heading, and our purpose was to take fun pictures and be silly, along with having a chance to stretch our legs a bit, before finishing our drive. It's a bit dated, but still fun if you go without high expectations. We had fun taking pictures, but were in and out of there in about 20 minutes flat. Nice diversion. I'd think younger kids are perfect for this. It's a nice diversion or side trip, not a main event. (The fee was $6 for adults)

If you're still a child at heart, this is the place for you. If you're a grumpy old fart who notices that the dinosaurs are all made out of fiberglass, go somewhere else. If you ARE a child, wheeeeeeee!Visiting on a rainy day at the end of the summer meant that I was all alone, and the photos are so much fun because of it. I used an auto-timer, positioned the camera on the info stands, and played goofball to my heart's content. It was wonderful! If/when I visit again with my grandson, I shall have twice the fun. It's a quick visit, less than an hour, but they've done their best to be informative and interesting. The sheer size of these monsters is quite something, I'm certainly glad I didn't walk the earth when they did. Oh, fun fact: some of the eyes have been painted so realistically, if you stare closely, you can almost see them focus on you! Ooooh! LOL

One sentence will describe my experience here. The best roadside stop kept in the dark. I am not sure how exactly I found out about it but my three hour drive there was so worth it. The park is hilarious and full of giant statues featuring many prehistoric animals. There are many hands on features and photo opportunities with the pieces of art. Not only that, but the gift shop is every child's and adult child's dream come true. I would definitly go again! I am an aspiring travel writer who travels all around virginia in search of new and local adventures. We stopped here as a surprise for my five-year-old son, and he loved it! A cool outdoor attraction with life-sized dinosaur sculptures, and descriptions of each dino. There were two hands on sculptures that little ones can climb in. A nice stop for little kids and big kids alike.

Very cute attraction. Not Disney World or anything but my 3 year old son and 4 year old nephew liked it a lot even in the rain. Reasonably priced and somewhat educational. Great day trip and nice change to get out of the city and suburbs.

We brought our five young grandchildren and their mothers, our two daughters, to this wonderful dinosaur park on a beautiful Tuesday morning in late July. The kids range in age from 20 months to nine years; everyone in our group loved this place! I was so tickled to see the kids all just run into the park after entering through the doorway from the gift shop. They all like dinosaurs so they immediately ran to find their favorite ones. We took dozens of cute photos of the kids posing and trying to look like each dinosaur (even we adults posed by our favorites!) The grounds are nice and shady with easy paths to follow, and well fenced in so you don't have to worry that anyone will run out of the park. The gift shop has lots of cool toys in all price ranges, as well as clean bathrooms. The staff we spoke to were very welcoming and seem to really enjoy working here. Well worth the drive; and for lunch, take a picnic lunch to nearby Sherando Park near Stephens City.

I went here with my daughter because she really wanted to go here. I thought it would be fun based on what I'd read but instead it was tired and rundown. The dinosaurs needed some fixing up and the whole walk thru took 10 minutes. The gift shop was limited in the tshirt sizes and was more geared toward Indian items than dinosaurs. If your looking to get off the hwy and stretch your legs this would be good otherwise keep going.

My husband had visited this many times as a child and wanted to share this with his own child. We enjoyed walking through the trail and reading all the dinosaur information, though some of it is quite dated. It was a very nice way to spend a weekend morning.

I thought my 11 and 17 year old were joking when we tried to drive by Dinosaur Land and they wanted to go there. The gift shop actually had a nice selection of rocks and fossils that were reasonably priced compared to some of the nearby caverns. The kids had fun going through the fiberglass dinosaurs and critters and taking silly pictures. Cheap entertainment and a nice distraction on a long drive.

Dinosaur Land is located several miles off of I-81 in Virginia not too far from the West Virginia border. Admission is only $6 for adults and you can find discount coupons in tourist info areas. A gravel path leads you around large, but not quite lifelike, models of over 50 dinosaurs and a few other creatures. The models look old and weather worn, but the kids don't seem to mind. A sign identifies each dinosaur and gives a brief description. Some of the descriptions are a little dated because the T-Rex was described as the largest meat eater, although larger carnivores have been found, including a behemoth from the Cretaceous Period discovered recently in Europe. A huge model of King Kong with his arm outstretched is available for pictures in the ape's hand. There is a large gift shop attached with a large selection of dinosaur items, plus many other souvenirs. At the entrance, two sauropods can clearly be seen from the road in front of their sign. Worth an hour's stop if you are passing through the area.

We stopped here on our recent family vacation. Saw a brochure and thought my kids would enjoy it. Was a great stop between stops. Took about an hour to go through and the kids loved running from dinosaur to dinosaur. As an adult I thought was kind of cheap lookin but the kids loved it and that's what matters.
