Off the beaten path doesn't convey the remoteness of this vineyard. As we pulled in front of the winery a fellow came out a window from the building behind and hollered out and asked if we we there for wine tasting. When we said we were he said Diane would be down. Diane pulled up in her car and let us in. The room was a dark wine tasting room with quality wood all around and lots of furniture. She was so pleasant and easy to talk with and let us try every wine some even twice. After a while the owner came in and also sat down to talk and told us about how he ended up with this winery. He wrote out directions on a paper bag so that we could head out on the quickest and easiest roads. His directions were spot on. What my husband and I enjoyed the most was that we didn't feel pressured in any way to make a purchase or to finish up.It felt like we were visiting friends for a while. When it was time to leave. Diane cut some lavender and tied it and gave it to me. I would go back again. About the wine , it was good. I enjoy wine but am not an expert. My favorite was a Cabernet Sauvignon. If you like sweet but not overpowering they had some good ones. The Chardonnay was very crisp. Better than I thought it would be. We also bought a couple of wine glasses so we could remember our afternoon.

This vineyard is truly in the middle of nowhere. But when you get there, the grounds are truly beautiful. The owner is just a guy in his retirement days who loves have the country view and growing grapes and making wine. He told us multiple times he's not in it for the money. His grounds are gorgeous, including many rescue dogs and horses on over 100 acres. His tasting room is a work in progress; now it's beautiful, with exposed rescued tobacco barn beams and a great tasting bar. In the future, it's going to be simple a work of art. We spent over and hour just chatting with the owner tasting his wines. The wine was decent - not great. If it had been great, this would be 5 stars all the way.
