Nothing else needs to be said. This is hands down one of the best wine makers in Virginia. Their wines are great, their staff is knowledgeable, the location is beautiful. Go, try their wines!

My friend and I visited Pearmund on a cool February Friday afternoon. This is the slow season for VA wineries, but we figured that it would be a nice way to spend an afternoon and learn more about VA wineries in general and Pearmund in particular. At $10, the wine tasting is a great deal. We got to try 3 white wines and 6 red wines. Lisa was very knowledgeable and very friendly, we learned and laughed. I was disappointed that all the Riesling was gone for season - the downside of visiting at this time of year. After our tasting, we bought a full glass of wine each along with a toasty hot baguette and sat at one of the tables to enjoy snacks that we had brought with us (cheese, grapes, etc.). They had everything you would need such as napkins and silverware. Aside from the hot baguettes, they had other foods for purchase, too. You can sit in the barrel room, though on this cold day, we elected to stay in the warmer lobby area. We got to meet friendly Tug as he roamed the lobby looking to be pet. All in all, a wonderful experience. I am sure it would be even better in the busier, warmer months.

We stopped in recently on a tour of 4 local vineyards. We were greeted by friendly smiles and the most precious golden retriever I've seen, who spent the whole time we were there lying on his back waiting for belly scratches. The wine tasting is $10 and features about 8 wines so while it's not the best value around, between the service and the number of wines tasted, you walk away feeling like you got at least your money's worth. The wines are about average for VA wineries, nothing that stands out but nothing terrible either. If I had to name one, I'd say they've got a delicious dessert wine. The winery itself isn't luxurious, but looks cozy and the barrel room is pretty. If you're touring VA wineries, it's worth a stop.

Every wine was astounding. Luscious, buttery Chardonnays. Ethereal off-dry Riesling with fruit flavors I have not encountered outside of German treatments. The Viognier shined, achieving creamy mouthfeel with vanilla and pineapple notes. Delicious, bold reds, including the powerful bouquet of the Cab Franc and the earthy Petit Verdot. Those are only a few, but everything we tasted was wonderful. The staff loved on our kids too. And after the tasting, as we chatted with one of the staff, he slipped us into the back so we could sample some other wines they are working on, that aren't yet ready for bottling. We will be back if only to taste the mature product!

Have been buying wine from perambulation Ndy for over ten years. Recently me and friends were on the rail at the VA Gold Cup. I renewed my relationship with Lisa and she shared three bottles of wine with me and my friends, loved the armatage so much that as soon as I got back to North Carolina I ordered a case. Also just recently I sent some off thier Chardonnay to a friend an she said it was great. If you are here Warrienton or plan to go there make it a point to stop at Pearmond you won't regret it

This place was nice place to stop. As in the title some of the wines were good some were bad. The girls conducting the wine tasting here were very knowledgeable and really fun to talk to though. Its not the most scenic of wineries but its a nice stop if you are in the area.

Nice winery with friendly staff. Good selection of wines with very little residual sugar. If you like fruity wines this is not the place for you.

We stopped at Pearmund on our way to Charlottesville...and it was hard to leave! Forrest was a font of wine knowledge, the tasting was unhurried, the wines were interesting and the crusty bread and cheeses were a delicious accompaniment to the bottle we selected to share. The afternoon was warm and breezy and the grounds were beautiful. Well worth the detour! A return visit is on our list!

The first thing you notice when you enter Pearmund Winery are the grapes. Rows and rows of them. Real fields of grapes, not just a few for show. These are the bright green chardonnay grapes, grown here in conditions ideal for them. Pearmund imports other grapes for its reds and other white varieties. And it's all good. Inside a low building you'll find a lively tasting bar (you may need to step around the resident dog lolling on the cool tile floor), the barrel room, and a small area devoted to gifts. I want to try the Ameritage (a lovely full bodied red) and was not disappointed. Staff here are friendly and wine knowledgeable. You can sit inside the tasting room area, in the more intimate barrel room or out on the grounds. When we visited, staff had cooked up pork bbq sandwiches and slaw ($10 for the platter and chips). We had limited time for our visit but saw enough to convince us to return again when we have more time. Bring a picnic or snacks to enjoy or get the lunch of the day. Grounds are pretty and relaxing. This winery has won lots of awards. It's easy to see and taste why.

Pearmund winery has a low key, casual atmosphere, perfect for hanging out and good conversation with friendly strangers as well as the lovely ladies pouring samples. They have some snacks available, which is nice. My personal favorite wine is the Cab Franc

Pearmund was an Excitation gift from my boyfriend. It included a VIP tasting and picnic. We arrived at opening time so we would not be rushed. Impressed with the large open tasting room. Appealing variety of white/red/dessert wines. Exquisite chocolate was provided to accompany/enhance the taste of certain wines. Ordered a baguette, goat cheese and salami for our meal; all were delicious! Great seating, farmhouse setting. Left with a bottle of Riesling. Definitely recommend with or without an Excitation!~

This was the first wine tasting for my hubby and I.Two servers helped us throughout the tasting. It was really interesting learning about different types of wine. We had 12 tastings and bought two bottles.I like a sweet and my hubby liked the Riesling. They give you a bowl of oyster crackers to munch on in between tastings. I think she refilled ours 3 times. After the tasting we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view of the countryside in Broad Run, VA.I would highly recommend this winery.

I was here with friends in late may for a wine tasting. The wine was very good and we had a great time. I will go back again.

My son took me here for Mother's Day. The weather was beautiful and of course it was busy since it was Mother's Day. Nevertheless, we were promptly appraoched by Blake, who was an extremely friendly sommelier. I got the full tasting for $10. I'm not normally much of a white wine person but theirs were excellent. My favorite was the Viognier. Their dessert wines are also noteworthy. Pearmund is close to Rt 29, not far from Gainesville, but really a world away in a lovely country setting.
