This is a basic conference center. There is plenty of parking. The staff working here is very helpful and friendly. Rental rates are good. If you can get a room with a view of the beach, this is a great spot to have a party. A word of caution- ask about how big the other parties are if you're renting an event. I had a birthday party here, and a large party completely blocked the entrance to the room I had rented. Friends were forced to go outside and around to the exterior doors.

We had our wedding here in March as we just live up the street and wanted our friends and family to be in "our neighborhood". It's not all that cheap to rent once you consider that you will have to supply everything, which basically adds up to the same amount you'd spend for a package deal at a restaurant. But, it is oceanfront property, parking is more than ample, and it really is a nice little building.There is no kitchen on the grounds (as local restauranteurs demanded that the kitchen be removed from the old Harbor Lights - which it was - when it was made a conference center, to avoid competition [?!]) so any food needs to be prepared elsewhere and reheated. Many local caterers, especially the ones the Conference Center staff will provide a list of, know this and try to work around it. Ours brought their own equipment to make hors d'oeuvres. As for the main meal, we used the pizza truck so as to have fresh hot food...they also know the venue well.Decorating can be done the day of or, in our case, the day before; the staff is cooperative and tries to help as much as possible.

The boardwalk along the beach here in West Haven is great for everyone! There are loads of park benches along the paved way, beach access and you could walk for miles along the shore if you wanted too. This location also has a conference center where you can rent room for parties. When I visited there was a wedding reception in one room (beautiful views of ocean through floor to ceiling windows) and then across the hall was a family reunion. LOADS of parking and just a great all around place to hang out with family or couple. Many joggers too! They do allow pets as long as you keep them on a leash and clean up after them.
