Nice location for a picnic and a jetski romp in the water of the area. Nice quiet location which has plenty of room for people wanting a nice day

Went over Columbus Day weekend and there were lots of fun family and friend groups eating and enjoying the good weather. Great place to walk your dog (after the season dogs are allowed) the color was beautiful looking across the river, we had missed the college regatta by a day but the results were posted and Yale did great! Schools from all over the country competed. Lots of picnic tables and grills and open area for playing! Entrance is free after Labor Day!

This park was a nice quiet place for a small cookout the location was nice and overall I would go back the only downside is the parking is a walk from the pavilion but that's not a big complain

Great park on the river. Perfect for fall foliage. Put your walking boots on. Not for young kids. Great for photos of nature.

My husband and I had great time. It was a nice laid back setting despite being pretty full. The kids were rounding around on the beach. We set up our volleyball net and played with another family. My father and my godfather played catch on the lawn. My friends' children played soccer. The only drawback:only one updated large bathroom. The toilets backed up and they closed them which meant every female in the park had to use three restrooms reminiscent of the 1970s on both ends of the park or porto-potties. The staff eventually reopened the bathrooms and they were pretty patient as people griped. Overall a nice experience.

While geographical great and has lots to offer in this area .The human element that make up the current atmosphere has declined over the last 20 years. All I can say is locals do not go here. Which is shame since it was once a quiet serene family area.

I went the saturday before memorial day and guess what? We had the entire park to ourselves well a few other families. There are grills throughout the park, bathrooms nearby, lake was great. Bring repellants all kids too . I recommend the candles.

This park is located 1 mile from Route 34 in Derby, in the town of Shelton, CT. It offers boat launch facilities, picnic tables, barbecue grills, unguarded swimming. Flat topography, hiking trails and a waterfall.
