We enjoyed watching a movie yesterday in this modern, comfortable auditorium. Clean and comfortable, what more can you ask for?

This is a great place to see a show. We just went to see a Queen cover band that was amazing! It seems like a small town place, serving drinks out of cooler, parking right near the door, a single teenage guy doing security, but they get great acts. Every seat is a great seat!

I attended a show that had a single acoustic performer as the opener and full band as the headliner. I had been looking forward to this show for months, and I have to say I was sort of let down. The acoustic performance was stellar, but when the full band came on the problems began to arise. Now as the guy who normally works behind the mixer I am accustom to what a good show should entail, and unfortunately for the performer the sound man this night did not do them any favors. The mix was most definitely sub-par. The overall volume was incredibly loud; much louder than it should have been, the guitars were panned hard left and right so I could barely hear the guitarist to my left, the vocals were very tinny, and thin at times, and the number of instances that I heard obvious feedback was disappointing. I just would have expected better from a professional venue like the Playhouse. Aside from the sound issues I was about ready to strangle the one drunk to my right screaming all night and the dude next to me with his iPhone that they can see from space. I am still going to go back for other shows, hoping that things will change, but who knows.

Attended the Chris Botti concert and the quality of music was great. Some sound board issues early in the concert were corrected and Chris and the band put on a great show. Looking forward to the next show at Ridgefield.

We went to an off-beat show by a group I'd heard of 20 years ago in France, Zap Mama. The show was a lot of fun and very creative and musically interesting. The Playhouse is a great venue for small to medium sized events in a former HS auditorium that's been redone. They get a lot of very interesting shows of all kinds that you would not see otherwise. The staff is super enthusiastic and very friendly. They really seem to want to make you have a good time and enjoy the shows. We got a great cocktail special for a cold night that we took to our seat which had cup holders(!) and I spoke to the stage manager afterwards who was very informative. People danced and participated during the show. The only problem was that there are no steps up onto the stage from the orchestra so the two audience performers had to climb up on the stage. Too bad they didn't have more people. We had fun! The Playhouse did send out offers for a special rate for our French teachers' association which was clever of them from the marketing point of view.

If you want to revisit what a country playhouse used to be come here.Sometimes good performers and artists you will not see at MSG.Pleasant destination in the CT countryside.

Small lobby space and I have had two occasions in a row where I do not enjoy the patrons. Obnoxious group of over the top, chair kicking, typical suburban brats that are now over 50 years of age. Will not be back to be treated like trash by the Ridgefield, CT. fools.

If it's not restored it was built recently in the grand tradition of great theaters. Check out the schedule and don't hesitate to go

Saw Arlo Guthrie here last night. Really good show. Sat in the front row of the mezzanine with a nice view; great sound. But the narrowest seats I've ever experienced! (Definitely NOT Broadway-size as others have suggested..) Also tight leg/foot room. The seats maybe were sized for the HS kids? Don't know, but someone decided to cut corners on the seating. Too bad too, as an otherwise very nice, intimate venue. I think bad choice to fit a few extra seats in.We watched people down below in the orchestra "popping" themselves into their seats. Not saying you need a shoehorn, but it's unfortunate all the same.

Saw a few acts there, it is on the small side and is actually housed in the former auditorium of the old Ridgefield High School - I should know, I went to school there! The sound is truly surprising considering it's humble beginnings. Have see 4 shows there and have enjoyed each and every one. The pricing is quite attractive also. Saw Judy Collins, Richard Thompson and ...both demand good sound...I don't believe they were disappointed, I know I wasn't.

A little difficult to find as it is an old school. Very heavy traffic in town so plan accordingly. A couple decent restaurants on Main St.

I'm actually sitting in my seat at the Ridgefield Playhouse waiting for the show to begin. I'm amazed by some of the negative reviews about the seating here. Let me just say that seating is fine and very comfortable. The seats are just like any Broadway show, nice padded theater seats. Having been to Infinity Hall in Norfolk many times (a place I love) which truly has uncomfortable, hard wooden flip-down seats. Don't let the negative reviews deter you about Ridgefield Playhouse. This is a beautiful venue. I will come back again.

This theater makes you feel up close and personal with performers, who tend to loosen up and talk to the audience more than in other theaters. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. And you can bring your drinks to your seat. What more could you want?

I feel so lucky having the Ridgefield Playhouse right up the road in CT. The talent they attract is remarkable -- their prices are less than half of a big city venue, there is plenty of free parking and the theater is small enough that every seat is a winner. Recent concerts include: Esperanza Spalding, Willie Nelson, Keb Mo, Taj Mahal -- just to name a few. Become a member and get access to the best seats in the house. Highly recommend!

We trekked to the Ridgefield Playhouse to see Pink Martini (who were joined by the von Trapps, great-granchildren and grandchildren of the family whose story was immortalized in "The Sound of Music"). The theater is great, small enough to feel intimate, large enough that when the energy starts flowing it's absolutely contagious. I was impressed by their ability to attract a group as exciting and renowned as Pink Martini; the theater was packed, which suggests there's an audience that appreciates the excitement that Pink Martini generates. The theater itself is beautifully appointed, cozy (it seats around 500), with the seating arrangement allowing for maximized viewing of the stage even from the back rows of the balcony. For us, as mid-Hudson residents, it was a wonderful find, and I highly recommend it to anyone within a 60- or so mile radius. Given their schedule for at least this year, it's abundantly clear that they're a very interesting and exciting circuit, and it's hard to imagine a more comfortable place to hear some very good performers.
