Visited this lake in July of 2014 from Wisconsin and felt right at home. Has a great up north vibe and the people are very friendly. We enjoyed time out on the sand bar!

Food was at best OK and the wait staff are more interested in their cell phones than waiting on customers. They do pay attention to the few regulars they have, but ignore everyone else

Lake Zoar is an attractive lake but it isn't easily accessible for visitors. Visitors should seek Newtown's beautiful walking trails, which provide a Short Escape from the urban areas of New York and Connecticut. Walks are also highly recommended on the main street with the flagpole in the middle of the road. You'll find Victorian houses, historic Edmond Town Hall and other sights. Go inside the hall and proceed to the second floor to view the mural and all the famous Newtown residents' names on the wall. Make sure to also walk around the historic Hattertown district, a former hat-making center.

I'm any given weekend in the summer you will find my family out on our boat enjoying the lake. Tubing fishing and just hanging out. The sandbar up in Newtown is an excellent place in about 2 feet of water where you can bring two broomsticks and moore the front and back of your boat. Always a crowd, and lots of people watching.

Best burgers, great hot, buttered lobster rolls and a great local neighborhood meet and greet. Do stop in!

Good burgers......don't get the fish and chips....not good. Lobster roll was too salty. Good fresh ice cream for the kids.

A lovely lake for a quiet day. Not a lot of activites, but a great place to just hang out. It is really more of a locals hangout rather than a destination unto itself.

One of our favorite lakes. Not too crowded most times. Tons of small coves and beaches to pull up and enjoy scenery, water sports or just relax.

Peaceful lake, there is a cute hot dog/hamburger/ice cream stand where you can get lunch and relax by the water. Not a lot of frontage though.

Lovely Lake to Kayak or boat or swim! Have spent time kayaking I found that early morning is best for a more tranquil experience. Boating is great anytime! Fun way to spend a summer day or evening.

It was a lovely lake, but it was a quiet lake . On the day we went there wasn't boating skiing, swimming, ect. Although to be fair I understand normally it is a well used lake

When we were kids, we used to call this Lake Sewer. It's filthy and one should avoid all contact with the water.
