I am going to give this a 2 star review, and please understand it is based on a single visit. Usually we go for the summer concerts. It is such a beautiful setting and listening to the music, sipping wine and snacking on a picnic is so much fun. However I thought that the barrel room concert would be fun too, sadly I was disappointed. The barrel room was acoustically unsuited for a concert. There were maybe 100 people packed in and 3 tables… Yes three small tables. And finally the people were talking so loud I couldn’t even hear the music.Who would spend $60 on tickets to hear someone play music and then run their mouths the whole time? I stopped one of the women who were working the show and mentioned how much nicer it would be if the management would ask people who wanted to talk ( apparently the entire crowd) to step outside so the people who wanted to listen to music could hear the singers voice, but she said the acoustics were bad in the room, and walked off.Oh well. Jonathan I won’t be coming to any more of your barrel room sessions, so see you this spring. PS… I want my money back! I left at intermission because I couldn’t even hear Will Evans singing, luckily I have his CD.

I enjoyed this tasting very much. We had wonderful conversation with the staff and the wine was very good. My only complaint is the woman who cashed us out. She was a bit cold and standoffish. Other than that, it was a great time.

We stopped at the winery during a ride to see the foliage. It was beautiful and relaxing. I would have like to have some choices of appetizers or cheese plates to accompany our wine. Many people came with their own coolers. Being unprepared, we didn't have much to choose from.

Nice day trip from MA. 90 minute drive. Quiet setting. Great server who knew the wine. Outdoor seating but too cold the day we went. Nice crowd, but didn't feel rushed or crowded. The reds were awesome and caused us to join their wine club. No pressure whatsoever, only the merits of the wine. Highly recommended!

We live right down the street from this vineyard and enjoy their outdoor entertainment during the summer months. For $12.00 entrance fee, you can enjoy wonderful bands from all genres each week. Bring a chair, food, table, blankets and set up your personal space with friends and family. Suitable for children.. they usually enjoy the dancing! Its worth the trip.

Spent an hour on a tour of the wine making and harvesting processes followed by a sampling of a flight of 7 wines--red and white. Very informative and enjoyable!

Stopped in to JE for a wine tasting. The selections of wines are nice. The gal behind the counter is NOT very friendly which is a shame when we are out supporting CT Wineries. We have had the same person before too!! I hope when we visit next year she can smile and be pleasant.

People had told us that Jonathan Edwards was quite beautiful and it was. Parking is not great, but we found a spot just down the road. We worked our way upstairs to the tasting room. Since we had just visited one winery we were not looking for a full tasting experience. We took the $6.00 for the two of us for only three wines. We couldn't take the glass, which was fine. The amount they gave us was rather skimpy, which was fine. I found the wines a bit too dry and not as flavorful. My wife enjoyed her sips. The purchase price for bottles ran into the $25.00 range. The main reason I am giving it four stars was for the scenery and the grounds, which you can walk on and bring a picnic lunch. That is the strength of the winery. They do have picnic tables outside the main building or you can take a nice walk.

The location and views are breathingtaking. We pre-paid and called a week before to let them know a group of 10 would be arriving on Oct 1st at 3:45PM for the wine tasting. They were very accommodating and helpful on the "phone". Upon arrival, we were not even greeted. We stood around for a few minutes waiting for some kind of greeting and we then we had to ask for our contact person (Raeanne). She kind of rudely told us we could NOT put our tray of cheese and crackers on the tasting bar and "pointed" to a staircase and told us we could put our tray upstairs. and told we could use the room upstairs and order a few bottles of wine to sample or we could do the wine tasting downstairs (but as the bar was small we chose to go upstairs). We even had to go downstairs and bring our own glasses and take them upstairs. Someone on her staff did bring 4 bottles of wine upstairs. Neither she nor any of her staff ever came up and checked on us. Disappointing and certainly not what we expected. The staff was actually very unapproachable (almost rude), did nothing to make our visit there “special” and certainly did not go out of their way for us at all. I know we didn’t pay for a “tour”, but theycould of at least given us a 5 minute overview/history of their winery and their products and made us feel welcome.

Most whites and the Cabernet Franc are grown on the estate, white the grapes for the reds are shipped in from California. All of the grapes are pressed and aged on the estate, and you can taste the differences in each vintage. They also make blends, turning out several in a given year, that are exceptional, and their dessert wine is flavorful and delicious.

We were shocked at the unkind way were treated here. We visited several other winery's in the area & had pleasant experiences in all but this one. Maybe she was having a bad day but she was rude!

I've heard a lot about this vineyard and was looking forward to it. The grounds were beautiful, and they had a terrace/deck you could sit on and enjoy a glass of wine. The wine was ok. The employee was pleasant. We didn't purchase any to take home. I'm glad we went, but I don't think there's a need for me to return.

This was the 3rd stop on my friend’s birthday wine tasting weekend. At first blush, the grounds were beautiful but when we got out of the car, it smelled strongly of horse poop. I get it’s a country setting, I get that it’s hot out but still, not a welcoming scent. The main tasting area was small and very crowded but we managed to get a spot at the bar. The woman was rude and had no interest in answering our questions. She would haughtily pour the samples while seeming to read from a tired script then quickly move onto another taster before we could get a word in. She seemed especially irritated that my friend and I were sharing a small (3 samples as opposed to 7 samples) tasting. The wine was underwhelming, the service rude and the space hot and cramped. This was easily our least favorite of the 4 wineries we visited.

We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy. You can pack a lunch, buy a bottle of wine from the winery and sit in the grass or on the deck and have a lovely picnic. What a great, inexpensive afternoon. Wonderful wine from their CT and Napa Valley wineries!

We visited this winery when our son's wedding was held there. It is in beautiful country in Connecticut. The wine is very good and everyone is so nice.
