Just right for bringing small children as everything can be seen quickly. Don't forget to ask to hold the friendly snake!

This is a great place to spend an afternoon. They do a lot of animal education for kids and schools. While the facility is pretty small you can tell the animals are really well taken care of. There are walking trails all over the grounds. Some of them go to their own garden complete with pond and playground on sight. As well as a near by park and some biking trails the neighborhood kids have made. Older individuals can relax walking threw the forest and enjoy the nature. While there is no shortage of interesting animal ambassadors for younger people. This is a nice place to kill a day for any age.

Neat little place. Always looking for things to do and take the kids, so this was good way to spend some time and keep the kids occupied.

We visited here on a Thursday afternoon with four generations. This is an extremely well designed and expansive children's activity center/animal refuge. Museum does not do it the service it deserves. We had individualized service from Holly who showed us many animals and allowed us to pet them. She was calm and knowledgeable. For the number of animals there, inside and out, the facility was remarkably absent of smell on a hot August day. The animals were obviously well cared for. The museum part could be enjoyed by those 2 to 15 with no problem. It would be a shorter visit for the older crowd. We were there for two hours and didn't even get to the playground or outdoor garden. If I lived in the area this would become a regular spot to visit and I would become a member with no question.

I held my son's birthday party here, and it was outstanding. The animal show was absolutely terrific and engaging. All the animals are handled with love and care. This is a great museum for children of all ages.

We visit this museum a few times a year and find it a joy. Though the permanent collection is excellent given the museum's small size, what pulls us in is the variety of exhibits that run throughout the year. A true local gem for those of us who live in central Ct.
