I am taking this review due to the fact that I live near this visitors center. This a great museum to view old artifacts from the Brice's Cross Road Battle. They have a shopping store with books, flags, cookbooks and old clothing and hats for dress up for children. While your visiting they have a movie set up informing of the history of this area and how it came to be. The staff are very friendly and informative and knowledgeable of the area. I highly recommend this stop. The hospitality is worth the stop ever time.

Spent the day in Baldwyn at Brice's Crossroad National Battlefield. The center is a few miles from the battlefield, but it's a must visit to gain a better understanding of the Battle of Brice's Crossroads. The center is small, but well laid out pack with great info concerning the Battle of Brice's Crossroad and Battle of Tupelo. The staff is very welcoming and eager to assist and making sure you are having a great time. There' a small gift shop with books, t-shirts and other items tied into Brice's crossroad. If you are touring in the Corinth, Mississippi area, this is a great additional stop for history lovers.

Take the time to visit. A very informative DVD on the Civil War battles in the area. Sit on the porch awhile, enjoy the breezes and the flags flying. If you're hungry before or after your visit, be sure to go to the City Cafe (just a short drive) for a great patty melt sandwich with out of this world onion rings. Thanks to the center staff for their recommendation !

Visited here Memorial Day weekend 2012. Great overview of the Civil War as well as the battles of Brices Crossroads and Tupelo. Make sure you visit all the exhibits and check out the movie. You'll walk away with an appreciation of the significance of both battles.

Very informative staff and the items on display are enjoyable viewing. If you are a history buff and enjoy studying about the civil war, this is a must see place in northeast Mississippi.

This visitor's center is just off US 45 south of Tupelo. The actual battlefield is a couple of miles away. This is a must stop for Civil War historians studying action in north Mississippi. The center gives a good overview of the Brice's Crossroads battle and its overall part of cavalry action in this part of the South. It is not as large as centers at Shiloh, Corinth and Vicksburg and does not have much to offer in the book shop but the park rangers are knowledgable and willing to answer questions. This center is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Make sure to stop here first to make your tour of the battlefield more enjoyable.

Travelling through going home. Was closed, but still took loads of pictures. Nice and peaceful. Well maintained.

Very good information and dioramas. Both kids and adults will learn a lot here from the exhibits and the historians on hand.

This visitor's center is the best place to learn about the Civil War battle of Brice's Crossroad's, some four miles to the west. The center has a 22-minute video, along with a diorama of the battle, uniforms, artifacts, a hands-on display for you to hear bugle calls, and an informative staff to help you learn. Up to now, the only way to really learn about the battle here was to drive to the one-acre National Park Service preserved park, and read the information plaque. Thanks to many local citizens, the battlefield is now 1,400 acres in size, and this museum is the key to seeing it all. In addition to what I have listed, the museum will provide you with a map showing not only the location of the NPS battlefield site, but of the additional historical markers and preserved fields that the NPS doesn't maintain. Most are directly adjacent to the NPS site.Getting to the museum is easy. Get off U.S. 45 at the junction of Miss. 370, and follow the Visitor Center signs. You can see it from the junction. It's the building with several flag poles. But the museum is closed on Mondays. The cost is $3 adult, $2 children. There is also a nice bookstore and gift shop in the museum. For more information, go to www.bricescrossroads.com.
