I can't believe it's taken us this long to visit St. Joe Park! The hubby and I were looking for a place to fish nearby and we're happy to say we found a new spot! First of all, the camping looks awesome! We'll be back to try it out this summer. There are several places to fish here. We chose the beach area so the fishing wasn't great but it was a beautiful little spot and so peaceful. The beach was clean and well marked. I LOVED watching all the four wheelers, mortorcycles and other atv's on the riding trails! Awesome place!!!!

Great fun on two, three, or four wheels. Great nice camping spots, clean showers, great trails. Great camping but you better be open to load ATVs! Good value and lots of great attractions in close proximity.

We stopped here in our tesla model S for a charge (free!) at one of their RV electric sites. We unfolded our bikes and went around the 11 mile circumferential bike path - what a great ride! A spur off of it leads to an old mine that's been made into a museum. $3 to go through it, which we didn't have 'cuz we'd left our money at the car so they let us in for free), and it was well worth it. Very interesting with enthusiastic and informative docents!

My husband and I have been camping at St. Joes state park for almost 30years, we have never had 1 complaint. The camping area where we ride ATV's is beautiful, it's clean and very maintained very well. The restroom's shower's and laundry rooms are so clean and so easy to use. The riding area is just wonderful, there is riding for everyone at any age. We have now started taking our son and his family camping as well.It is a very safe place for children and the staff follow and stick to the rules, for all there guest saftey. So if your looking for somewhere to take your ATV's and do some awesome camping, this is the park for you. They have non electric, and 30 amp and 50 amp sites to camp and restrooms close by.***** five stars in our book!!

Worth seeing and exploring. After a day adventure we returned for another day in paradise :) Heaven for 4 wheelers.

This is a fine place for ATVs and for horse trail rides, but there is more for other-minded visitors. There are more than 8,000 acres, of which only 2,000 are designated for ORV use in the mine tailings area. The remainder is very good mix of forest, woodland and grasses, with some small lakes. As with all Missouri State Parks, admission is free. There are fees for camping. The birding here can be excellent. There are many trails to follow and a good road system that provide access to the various habitats. The bird list is very good. See the full list on www.mobirds.org, the Aiudubon Society of Missouri website, where a detailed guide to birding the park may also be found.Of course, spring and fall migration offer the best possibilities. For the most rewarding birding experience, go on a weekday when the roaring ATVs are less likely to be present.

Park has pull through and back in campsites. They can accommodate the largest of RV's. Most sites have either 50 or 30 amp electric. There is water in between every few sites and a dump station as you leave. Shower house and many toilets. Almost 3000 acres of off road trails and flat sand areas for riding dirt bikes, atv's, side by sides and many other vehicles. $5 per day is charged for vehicles using the off road areas. Two lake beaches and fishing. Boats electric motor only. Play grounds, hiking and biking trails galore. Also 17 miles of equestrian trails. Shopping is only 15 minutes away. Reservations suggested. Just a great place to have a great time.

We stayed in site 004. This park is mainly for Motörheads and Horse lovers with off road trails and horseback riding trails but we do neither and love it. Walking trails are nice. The OVR people are tired at night making for a peaceful night. Sites are clean and nice. Many are pull thru. Our site was $21 a night with elect only. Water and dump station available. Campground 1 has paved campsites. I would recommend this campground to everyone.

We love all the state parks in Missouri, including St. Joe State Park. Good place to ride bikes, hike, enjoy the scenery of Missouri.

Good trails to ride. You can take the short or the long trail. Nice and rocky - not like riding down a logging road.

Former lead mine, so yes, lead warnings...however great atv park with clean facilities, excellent camp spots, biking, hiking etc. The lake is man-made and water just tends to be hot...which in the summer...very hot area! We come here once a year so we consider the lead warnings but dont have a concern with it. Also stop at the old mine if u like geologic stuff the kids liked that

Lead dust and tailings as far as eye can see and wind carries air.

This park is not great for hiking or camping. This former mining site is now used for ATV riding.
