Nice facilities, well groomed and very nice hiking trails...Area had a lot of rain(we hear 9 inches in one day) and lake was very full, but still a good visit. Quiet and peaceful!

When you get to the actual lake, there is plenty of parking. The marina shop has scoops of ice cream, fountain sodas and many fishing supplies with a wooden deck right outside to take in the scenery. They also sell fish pellets to feed lots of catfish right outside. They have grills for cooking. A section off area for swimming. There are parking spots large enough for a truck pulling a boat. Picnic tables for a relaxing meal. Not a lot of boats on the water like some lakes.AWESOME kids playground right before you get to the lake with a shaded pavilion and lots of room to run away from the road. A water fountain with two spouts and a faucet below to either fill up a large water jug or let the kids play with. Walking trail that leads to the lake. One of the best places to stop in Macon.

We stumbled across this little piece of heaven last summer and can't get enough! Planning a trip back in 2 weeks! We love the walk-in tent sights because we can pull our boat right up to any of them you don't have to drive back and forth to the marina to use your boat, it is docked right off your own private beach ready when you are! Long Branch has several little island beaches scattered all over the lake and several are just wonderful to pull up to with the boat. Picnic and get so.e sun. Very clean and beautiful park and lake. The lake is very large and perfect for tubing or skiing all day. The swim beach is the nicest of all parks. Highly recommend staying here!

My wife and I walked some trails that led up to the lake and eventually ended up at the beach! We had a great time, too bad the weather changed on us or we would have stayed longer...

This is a great place for a family outing. The beach is well kept with updated picnic tables and shelters. Also a great place for camping.

This was a very nice state park. My partner and I went camping for Memorial Day weekend. We each bought a 2 day fishing license to relax and fish a little. Well relax we didn't. We were constantly being stopped by conservation agents and park rangers. They kept checking us for a fishing license. We had to stop fishing and produce our licenses and wait as they called them in to verify. It felt as if we were being singled out because they did not ask anyone else surrounding us to see their's. We left irritated after 1 hour of fishing and several stops by the Rangers and conservation agents and decided not to fish the rest of our time there. It wasn't worth the frustration. We were there to relax and weren't being let to.

We stayed overnight (RV) when traveling through Missouri. This is one of the nicest State Parks we've been to in a long time. Excellent boating lake, picnic areas, and RV sites. Definitely a vacation destination if you live within easy driving distance of northern Missouri.Clean, level, paved sites. (Some sites are huge!). Beautiful wooded setting on large lake. (Recycling containers are available. Travel from Macon exit of I-70 to Park. (Ignore GPS recommendation when traveling eastbound on I-70 and continue east to Macon exit, follow signs.) Note that we don’t carry a TV around so no cable service is necessary nor could I assess access. We use the fifth-wheel primarily to have a comfortable place to sleep, a toilet and shower that don’t offer surprises, and someplace to store food. Other than that, we live outside!

A very nice family oriented lake. Has a good size swimming area and shallow enough for little ones to go out fairly far without concern. Very nice showers / restrooms, clean and well kept! Employee's and Host were very nice, and very good with the kids. I would return to this lake, we had a lot of fun there! Macon is only a mile and a half up the road and has any store you may need for supplies. The campgrounds were mowed and well kept. A little close together for my liking but many nice spots and lots of shaded spots too. FYI, If your a fisherman and you fish from shore, there are not a lot of spots you can get to. They frown upon parking on the grass or sides of the road. So plan on hiking a great distance to fish on shore! A boat is the way to go on this lake. I don't recommend walking the levee, people walk their dogs on it and DO NOT pick up after them...It stunk like dog poo!

This is a very nice State Park with a beautiful lake and a nice swimming area. The bathrooms are not far from the swimming area if you want to change before heading home. They do have a place to rinse the sand off near the bathrooms. The beach area is not that crowded, which is nice. They also have picnic areas and camping. There is no boat rental here though. This is something I hope they will consider in the future.

Great place to spend the day! Only one way in & one way out, which made it hard to turn around. Loved the look-out stop.

Situated on the banks of Long Branch Lake, Long Branch State Park is an ideal recreation destination for water enthusiasts as well as nature lovers. Visitors can take advantage of all the recreation options the lake has to offer, or hike through a restored prairie.Access to Long Branch Lake is provided via three boat ramps, catering to visitors wanting to boat, water ski or find a quiet cove for fishing. The park's marina offers covered boat slips, boat rentals and a store. The lake has an excellent reputation for bass fishing, but anglers can also cast their lines for catfish and crappie. An accessible fishing dock is available. A sand swimming beach provides a terrific place for fun and sun.Eighty-three campsites, ranging from basic to electric, are located in a wooded area bordering the native prairie and near the lake. Nine secluded walk-in campsites are nestled near the lake's shore. Campground facilities include modern restrooms with hot showers.

WOW...this is a little known state park that offers superb accomodations. Their campground is watched and a good place if you have children. You won't find drunk and disordly at ths park. The lake and boat ramp are fabulous.

Great fun for family, campers, boaters, skiers and beach goers. Campgrounds are adequate and are always full during the summer months.

I've been to Long Branch SP alone and with friends many times throughout the seasons for several years. The campground is one of the best in Missouri for shady, semi-secluded sites. The lake attracts many kinds of birds--gulls (including some unusual species), ducks, geese, grebes, and even Snow Buntings. The restored prairie is a good introduction to that habitat. The wind can get pretty wicked at the park on a winter day, so if you wander around much there in winter, dress for it.The warning about the ranger is "spot on". The guy doesn't have much to do, so is really tough about people stopping cars on the dam to look at the birds, people going too fast, and even people parked where there are signs for no parking. Non-winterized restrooms are closed seasonally.

I actually lived on Longbranch Lake and it's absolutely beautiful and under utilized. Not crowded and an unspoiled lake.
