This is a great little venue for a variety of events. The Maverick's, our local CHA hockey team use this as their home ice. The seating is all "close to the glass" and there's not a bad seat in the place. It's also a good place for concerts. The arena is smaller and more intimate the the gigantic stadiums and arenas and the sound and acoustics are very good. They have a public ice skating area that is available private parties as well. I have younger friends with children who tell me make s for a nice place to take a family as well.

There is not a bad seat in the house. Love the energy from such a small venue. Truly enjoy going to this place for events.

Not a bad seat in the house!! All cushioned chairs with great sight lines for the action. Concessions are reasonably priced, just like the tickets. Parking is free. Always a great time with fun give-a-ways and lots of laughs. Oh and did I mention it was HOCKEY!!

The ice rink at the event center is one of our favorite family activities. We love to skate during their public ice skate times. It is just as fun as ice terrace but much less crowded. It is indoors so we can skate year round. We did a birthday party here in June that was a blast.

Tickets to acts who perform there are no less than what you pay at Sprint Center but there is where the similarities stop. Even the best seats have no cup rests and if you have the misfortune to be setting behind a row full of Heavyweights the seats in the row in front of your may be in your lap. Strange that they are so flimsy for a Permanent Seating arrangement. Parking can be a long long walk from Car to Venue similar to Arrowhead. I guess if you were a Hockey Fan probably be a great place to see a game.

My sons play there; a great organization with excellent coaches. Excellent fan facilities. Would benefit from better team locker facilities.

The IEC is the perfect size for events. I am a season ticket holder at the Missouri Mavericks' hockey games and there is not a bad seat in the house and the prices are very affordable, especially on the ends. The games are all so fun and the sound system is great! I have been to a few other events at the IEC and - as mentioned before - there is not a bad seat in the house and the sound system is great for concerts and other events. The team store for the Mavericks is pretty expensive. They need to have more affordable items for families to be able to purchase team wear to show their support of their team. This factor resulted in me not giving the IEC top ratings. On to the concessions. They are not very great. The prices are high. You have to pay for refills. (You do NOT at the Sprint Center). You cannot just buy a hamburger, you have to buy a $9 combo. The hot dog bun (purchased during "happy hour") was hard and stale. The prices are ridiculous for the poor quality of food. I do have to give them credit, though, the concession staff is very friendly and helpful.

I like to attend the Maverick's Hockey games at the Independence Events Center. It's a family affair...so take the kids. Watch for discounts. I usually attend with friends and we have a great time watching the hockey game. There isn't a "bad" seat in the house and the price is right. My friends and I have great, reasonably priced food, beer before the game. There is also a community skating rink inside the building. And there are many different concerts and events. There is always free parking. A great addition for Independence and right off I-70.

We visited the Harry Truman homestead on a Monday. There are only 8 tour slots available each 1/2 hour. We arrived about 11:30 am, and were able to get 3 tickets for the 2:30 pm tour (these are free if you have an America the Beautiful Senior or Disabled Access card, otherwise $5.00).There are lots of sites to see in historic Independence so the time can be well used. We actually got onto a mule-pulled wagon right outside the visitors center for an 1 hour, 20 minute ride around the historical areas - very nice. The house tour was great, as was our guide. Very knowledgeable. I only wished we would have gotten to see the upstairs rooms also.

Enjoy the Mavericks Hockey and the other entertainment here! Concerts are great too! Easy to get around and great seats!

Seeing the Mavericks is very nice here. There isn't a bad seat. The arena isn't very big, so the upper seats are still very low. Go and support the Missouri Mavericks!

Ample free parking and close to freeway. It is of a size that makes it comfortable for people that don't like huge crowds of people. There is not a bad seat in the house because of the design and layout of the building.

The Independence Events Center offers free parking, a family community center for skating and Central Hockey League (CHL) games with the Missouri Mavericks. Prices are reasonable and a family friendly environment is encouraged.

Other than it being extremely cold, the rink was very well maintained. Nicest facility for skating that I have ever visited.
