I am proud to have several family members honored at this Memorial including my Viet Nam disabled Vet husband. The site for these memorials for all of our wars is beautiful, peaceful, moving. Easy access; beautiful landscaping; it is wonderful to honor our war era heroes.

I recently took my elderly father here for a visit. He has been a number to times but it was my first visit. Located at the top of the hill of Hoyt Park. Parking adjacent. Wide paved pathways with beautiful landscaping. A variety of small trees, bushes and both perennial and annual flowers in wide garden beds. They have done an excellent job designing and maintaining the gardens. There are benches scattered here and there, as well as stone walls separating each of the memorial areas, which can be used as seating. Brick pathways lead into the memorial area; you can buy a brick in two sizes for your loved one and have it placed in the proper area. WWI, WW2, Korea, and Vietnam Wars are represented. Hopefully one day they will add an area for the Gulf Wars to date. A beautiful monument is located at the head of each war area, with the names of those from Saginaw County that died in that particular war. The purchase and placement of memory bricks is vast and it felt really good to see the participation of the community in this wonderful war memorial. There are ceremonies during various times of the year. Citizens of Saginaw County can be proud of this great addition to Hoyt Park. Run by volunteers! And we thank them!
