The Vicksburg Historical Village is the best Community maintained museum and public treasure trove of anything Vicksburg. Spend an afternoon exploring the historical village just over the tracks on Richardson St., the rich history is spellbinding. Enjoy....you will not be disappointed.

The historic village consists of a 1904 Depot serving as a small museum and public archives, and a series of outdoor sites you can visit. They include: a restored caboose, box car with railroad artifacts and information displayed on the walls and in cases; a one-room school, vintage print shop, a rural township hall, a 1930's era gas station, and a vintage farm house and barn. All are open on Saturdays only, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., though you will have to ask to have the farm house opened. The historic village closes Dec. 31 and re-opens May 1. During December there's a great holiday model train exhibit in the Township Hall, and they also hold a great Harvest Festival the last of September with lots of animals, booths, food, music and children's activities. This is a great little place to visit for anyone interested in history.
