Sugar sand beach with access from the cul de sac on Pointe Drive. A quiet beach with all sand bottom no weeds or rocks or stones. A lovely place for a picnic without many people around. We are there every summer to swim. Lake is shallow and therefore warm water. You can place your chair on the sand bar bottom and read a book while enjoying the water.

Cecil Bay Park provides over a mile of beach on Lake MI, about 4 miles out from Mackinaw City. It has a good parking lot, with large expanses of grass. There is one picnic pavilion, with a fantastic, very large, stone fireplace at one end of the pavilion. I can see having a great family reunion here or any gathering, with a huge, roaring fire in the fireplace. There are a few other picnic tables scattered thru the park. They provide a boardwalk and the Carp River flows out into Lake Michigan from here, also. The park was well kept and very quiet, we saw no one there on our visit.. It is a bit of walk to the beach if you have to park in the parking lot, but there is also parking at the end of the street for a few cars, closer to the beach. Located at the corner of Cecil Bay Rd and Wilderness State Park. West of Mackinaw City.
