affectionately known as Pine Knob, this is a fabulous concert venue. Other than an occasional slow trek in traffic when leaving, this place is a great time! The hillside is where the party is at! Having seats in the covered pavilion is also a great time. I have been going there for decades now, and have seen a lot of different artists and shows. DTE, or Pine Knob, is one of many great venues for music in Michigan. Nice weather helps, but isn't necessarily a requirement for a good time. If you love music, and people, and a great, fun atmosphere, you'll totally love DTE for a show.

Always a blast to go there for a concert. Make sure you get there early and tailgate. (no glass bottles, put your drinks in a cup). When you walk in , turn right and check out the really nice outdoor brew pub (lots of bbq and food as well as craft beers).

Large venue bought lawn tickets that did not state only beach chairs are allowed. When we complained they stated it is on their website. The ticket taker advised me to talk to guest services and they would help us since due to hip surgery would be unable to sit on the ground the entire concert. They were very helpful and sat us at the back of the handicap section.

I have lived in the area all of my life and DTE Energy is THE best place for an open concert (my opinion and experience only) I have been in both the Pavilion and lawn area & to me the lawn rocks...the atmosphere is AWESOME and you have a bit more room on the lawn to move around.. YOUR GONNA HAVE A BLAST. yeah, the prices are steep for drinks but its like any other venue that is in business to make money ! My best advice, try to empty your bladder BEFORE the concert begins (as much as possible) because when the lawn fills up and it gets dark, its hard to find where your friends are...which bring me to my next point, the lines for the bathrooms get LOOONG so expect to wait...

Where you are a single person, attached, or have kids in tow, this is the venue to go to to truly enjoy live music. The atmosphere is fantastic. I have seen dozens of shows here (everything from MERCYME, Chicago, REO Speedwagon, Depeche Mode, Kings of Leon, to Incubus) and each time, I look forward to the next time! Tip: if you are looking to cut loose a bit and have access to the restrooms and concessions, opt for the lawn seats. Awesome camaraderie and it is a BLAST!!!

Went to see Hank Williams Jr. in August 2014 at DTE Energy Music Theatre - The Palace. I was concerned at his age (65) that his voice and performance would be mediocre. Not the case. Hank started out with his band for about 30 minutes and several songs. Then the band went away. Then it was just Hank, his guitar and a microphone. Not only was his voice crystal clear and strong, he was a fantastic entertainer. He talked, he sang, and he entertained for 90 minutes straight without a quiver in his voice or a bad chord strummed.Of course, he played all the favorites. What an evening with Hank Williams Jr.

Great place to go for concerts, always a good time. The bathroom situation is not good, plan for LONG waits and soaking wet floors, lil gross. Beverage prices are nuts. Food from vendors is very good but again super pricey.

I have been to dozens of concerts at DTE and enjoyed every single one. Lawn seats - This is where the party is. An experience unlike any other. This ISN'T for just anyone though. If you don't like being around pot, drunks or just general crazyness, the hill may not be for you. Also if it rains, it gets slippery and dirty. On a postive note they have screens that display the main stage so you get a chance to see whats going on at the bottom of the hill. The prices for lawn seats are very reasonable and the overall experience is great. Pavillion - If you are willing to spend a bit more and you want to actually be able to see whats going on on stage this may be the better choice. Not only are you covered from the elements but the accoustics are better. Food - The food and the drinks are expensive but nothing crazy compared to other venues. Bathrooms - I have to give props to DTE, theres lots of bathrooms and they are usually very clean considering the amount of traffic. Parking - The parking lot and field are ok. It is a nightmare getting out of the lot. I once waited over 1 hour to get out. If you can spring for VIP parking DO IT.

The concert was absolutely wonderful, I went and saw the Carnivore Tour. I had such a great time. I do have to say that the price for a beer is outrages. The bathroom were so clean which I was impressed being that they were 20,000 people there.

the outdoor setting makes the venue exciting and that's much more enjoyable! whether it's on the lawn or under the pavilion, always a fun time!

The lawn is perfect but I would prefer seats next time for sure. The toilets were big enough to accommodate many visitors but during my visit I didn't see anyone to clean. Drinks and food were nice and the prices were worth to buy instead of carrying in. I would definitely get different designs for souvenir glasses instead of simple white ones. If you are visiting call ahead and make sure what you can bring in or can not. It depends on events.

I have been to several concerts here and will continue coming back. Great security for as big as the crowds are also feel safe. Fantastic bands and lower prices than other venues. Drinks are very high priced is the down fall of DTE.

Sound good. Clean grounds. No obstruction from lawn. Need better entrances and exists inside the venue. Stairs should be wider and maybe another set. More bathrooms are needed. Chair rentals for 5.00. Get it. Drinks and food as expected. .. and expensive. Bring your own cooler.

My spouse and I enjoy coming here and sitting on the lawn for concerts. In between acts, it is fun to visit with other concert goers sitting around.

We took my daughter and her boyfriend to the Uproar Festival at DTE Energy Music Theater. What a great concert venue! We sat in the pavillion which was awesome. There are plenty of food and beverage vendors. They rent chairs for the lawn if you are interested. Plenty of restrooms. Most people know the location as Pine Knob, that was the former name. Outdoor concerts are great, if the weather cooperates! Luckily we had beautiful weather, but just in case I would recommend pavillion seating. Parking fees were included in our ticket price so we didn't pay extra to park. Several fast food options down the street from the venue if you want to grab a bite prior to your event. Easy to get to from I75.
