A few years ago my old Air Force buddy and I starting going to Frankfort Michigan to fish for salmon with a friend of his. We are both avid golfers and discovered there are some great golf courses around Frankfort. This year we discovered Pinecroft Golf in Beulah, MI which is about 8 miles from Frankfort. The course was designed by the owner who did a great job of using the local topography to develop a challenging and enjoyable course. A few things: the course is a bit hilly with relatively narrow fairways and quite a few trees. It is rural so there were plenty of birds and other animals to see while playing. We encountered a group of 8 wild turkeys who clearly were not intimidated by a golf ball or golf players. Not sure what the grass was on the greens but it was relatively slow. The fairways appeared to be bluegrass or fescue. It was a challenging course that favors the accurate golfer over the long golfer. We liked it so much we played it twice in the week we were in Michigan. Rates were very reasonable and the staff quite friendly.
