I had high hopes for this restaurant but in the end I was disappointed. My wife and I visit State college several times a month but since we live downtown, we basically stick to restaurants we can walk to. After the last hockey game, we decided to try something new and meet friends at Otto's. When we got there, it was a 45 minute wait for a table. Rather than wait in the entrance, we managed to find a table by the bar and ordered a flight of beers. If was fun tasting them and I would recommend it. When our turn arrived, they escorted us to the other side of the restaurant with a smaller bar but pretty much the same bar height table that we had just left. We were more comfortable at our original table because the new table was right by the kitchen access for the waiters. We ordered a mussels appetizer and split a burger (medium). It took a long time and unfortunately everything came out at the same time. The burger bun was crusty like it had sat under a lamp for a while. It was overcooked. Our friends ordered the fish tacos with the dressing on the side, but it came smothered. I wanted to send mine back, but my wife didn't want to. Probably because she was hungry. This could have been a much better experience if we had a better waiter. We might give it another try or maybe the American Ale House by Tofftrees.

Great beer choices. Food never fails to be perfect. Very popular place so be prepared for a line. Lots of kids but they just add to the ambiance. Very good for families and large parties.

Ottos is a great local State College brewery/bar. The beer selection is good and those I've tried have been decent. The food is on point as every time I have tried something its been well worth it.The Smoked wings and chicken thighs rock here. This is definitely a locals place and is almost always a busy bar. On football game weekends beware it can be a 1 hour plus wait for seating. It's that good. Staff seems good and on top of things most of the time (however only 2 bartenders with a full bar top and full restaurant is pushing the low staff limits). Overall a great "hang-out-for-a-beer" bar with higher end bar food offerings. Recommended.

Going to Otto's is a great experiance. The micro beer is great, the food is great, the people that work there are wonderful. You can try the beer in sample form. They do get in local musical talent, and purchase thier beer to go. Prices are good. You can't go wrong.

I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with Brother Rods sauce on the side. YUM! If you like heat packed with flavor you will be happy with this sauce. The shredded pork was moist and seasoned just right. I selected the Pilsener Lager to go with my meal. The Lager had a crisp clear taste. Great atmosphere. Great service. Clean. I will go back!

The beer is very good, with typically a wide selection. Most of the food is also very good - not exceptional but very good. Had salad with chicken fingers on it in the mango habanero sauce which was very tasty with just enough heat. Service was good as well, but the place is typically pretty loud.

I visited for lunch with a friend and we enjoyed It very much. We had the Cajun crab dip appetizer - yum.I had the ultimate grilled cheese and the fries and my friend had a Otto burger. She said the burger was delicious. The service was great and it was a very neat atmosphere. It was a little cool outside or we would of dined out, looked really like it would be great.

Outsiders beware, this place is for locals dining to say hello to a chief they know. The duck was good, the experience was not. If you're charing me $30-$40 for a plate I expect better service. My wife and I went to Otto's celebrating. With two parties ahead of us we waited over a hour. When it was our turn they sat a four top in our place and had us wait for the next table. I guess I understand that when you have only seven tables but it felt unfair. It was apparent the owner running the floor had been drinking as he visited the tables he knew and those that needed more wine. We sat and stared at our dangerously undercooked bratwurst appetizer waiting for our waitress or the owner to acknowledge us. Highlights for me would be the duck, the beer, and a friendly hostess.

I love coming here!!! The double D IPA is to die for and the wraps are very very good! Staff is awesome as well as the management! If you're looking for a great place to go after the game I would definitely go here!

Otto's is a brew pub with a diverse and rotating collection of excellent beers brewed on the property. It has a full bar, but the beer is the main attraction. I like sitting at the bar and the bartenders are all really friendly and attentive. If you go there more than once, they'll learn your name, what you like, etc. The customer comes first at Otto's. The food is typically very good, including great pizza from their pizza oven, Chili, fish tacos, and an excellent streak. Daily appetizer and entree specials are typically great and feature locally produced foods. Buy a growler and take some beer home to go. Best bar in town for the over 30 crowd.

The beers at Otto's are very good for a micro brewery however their food is average at best. I've had their meatloaf on several occasions and found to be a bit spicy and otherwise nondescript. I've also been there for lunch and have decided that I'd never go back there for a noon meal again,.

Excellent pub to just have a beer/sandwich. Service always fast and courteous and plenty of parking. Normal wait time is 0-15 minutes, unless home football weekend. Then about one hour.

Everyone I've talked with, liked the food and atmosphere better before they move to the old Quaker Steak and Lube building. The food has become more palatable over time but still not as good as before. The decor is pretty Cheesey...feeling like you're in an antique Hard Rock in the 80's... Or maybe that's what they were going for. It was very busy the night we went and what should have been a one hour meal took two. Better management would have had more WaitStaff to compensate for the crowd. Two bartenders also...really? With a place to sit/eat at the bar AND serve your WaitStaff drinks for their customers? I'd fire the manager right now and try again!

Otto's is OK - wish it was better because I want to like and support it. The beer is OK - I prefer ales so I have the Spruce or Spring Creek ales. They aren't horrible and they aren't beers I order when I'm in other local establishments which stock Otto's beers. The atmosphere and the food tie for the worst aspects. The space is always extremely loud and some nights they have live music which hasn't been pleasurable in my experience. The smoked wings and the burgers are the best things on the menu - wish there was more I could recommend but these are two items I stick with after getting burned on the salads, sandwiches, pizzas and specials. I daily specials are really pricey, too. I'd give Ottos' a 2.5 out of 5 if I could.

Otto's is always great. Great beer and food. Atmosphere is very good as well. A little bit noisy still, but parking has improved. Great wings, burgers and pizza. Pasta is very good as well.
