Was visiting a friend in Hershey back in May and had the good fortune to see "Leading Ladies" at the Hershey Area Playhouse. It was a zany, funny show...well acted and well attended. I love that the actors come out into the lobby after the show to greet everyone and thank them for supporting the theatre. I am from the Los Angeles area and spend a lot of time going to local theatres. I can tell you honestly, this playhouse rivals any of those. There isn't a bad seat in the house, they have an excellent sound and lighting engineer, and the actors were seasoned. If you are ever in the Hershey area, I highly recommend you catch a show there. Looking forward to my next visit!

All the plays we saw there were very good. It is a rather small place, with good shows. Good seating. Can"t say nothing bad about the place. Will return. Very professional.

Attended my first show today, A Christmas Carol, at the Hershey Area theater. Seating is stadium style so I do agree with the other reviews that it is difficult to get a bad seat. That being said, the 2nd rows are the same level as the first row so I did have to maneuver the folks in front of me to see some of the scenes. Next time, will look for seats beginning in row 3 or in the first row. The music, singing, and costumes were great. All the actors did a fabulous job! The playwright was in the audience and fielded questions during intermission which placed a uniqueness on the show. A great performance and experience!

All the Plays that are put on are great. Seats are very good no matter where you sit. The theatre is very clean. Enjoyed it very much.

I enjoyed this theatre very much. The stage design is a thrust, meaning you can sit on three sides and still see a great deal of the action. It is small and intimate and all actors and crew members are hired locally and often times volunteer. The only qualm I had was the parking, which there is no designated parking lot for the playhouse per say, but there was plenty of parking on the retirement community grounds the playhouse shares. Go and see great shows at great prices and fun memories.

Every seat is a great seat in this very comfy air conditioned theatre. You are so near the action you feel like you are in it at times.

The Playhouse is very clean and has a thrust stage for the shows it runs. If you have a chance to see a play here you should buy your tickets early to ensure good seats. I am confused by a review on Trip Advisor that complains about food. It has no restaurant only small snacks during intermission.

The actors and directors involved in shows here are generally very good, and a number of them have professional experience in theatre and music. The costumes and sets are also nicely done. Spending an afternoon or evening here at a show is a great break from the usual of everyday life.
