We were adventuring in our home county for the day and decided to swing by. After a long winding trek up the narrow road, we happened upon a gorgeous estate. We quick checked holiday operating hours to make sure we were not imposing. While trying to figure out which door to go in, presumed staff didn't bother to offer us guidance, and when we approached the front door and walked into a room of people (and no tasting area or staff in sight) no one could direct us where to go. Maybe it was partially our fault for not asking, but there are no signs anywhere, no staff to be found, and tons of junk in the driveway. We felt so awkward and so turned off by the haughty nature we left without even bothering to taste or purchase wine.

From the first sight and smell I knew that the merlot was not. It looked like watered down wine and tasted worse. My other samples were on a par with this. My son had a similar experience with his samples. We were not planning a wine tour but my son felt we should have a pleasant experience and took us to Nissely Vineyards where our experience was in sharp contrast. Merlot tasted like a merlot worth sharing with friends. We bought five different bottles total at half the price at Moon Dancer. 12/22/14

What a charming spot! The wine was outstanding and the brick fired pizza some of the best I have had. The view is second to none and there are goats walking around! The outdoor seating was lovely and we even brought the dogs.

We were ushered in to a bar in the back and the young woman behind the counter acted like we weren't paying. She was way to layed back. We were potential customers not her family that she didn't really want to see. (Which is how she acted.) She acted like we were bothering her and rushed us to pick 6 wines. So unprofessional it wasn't even funny. Walked out of what looked like a beautiful winery ticked off at being rushed and the unprofessional way we were treated. She even tried to rip us off by charging us twice for the fees.I do not recommend anyone come here that wants to be treated with courtesy.

I've been here twice. June 2013 and July 2014. The first visit was only for a tasting and some take-home bottles. The recent visit included a meal and live music. The grounds need a little TLC, but I enjoy this place. The wines are generally fruity ans sweet, but that's expected based on the climate zone. The Reserve Port is perhaps the tastiest beverage that I have ever tasted. Fantastic!

If you want a great view from a small castle looking place, you will not be disappointed; at least with the view. The inside of the building always looks they are trying to clean up or tear down. It is a shame they don't put some nice chairs or couches inside, especially by the fireplace, if you want to sit inside instead of outside on the very large patio overlooking the Susquehanna. If you are more of a sweet wine drinker, then this is the place for you. They do have some dry wines but they are very fruity tasting and not as dry as we prefer. We do like the regular chardonnay best. They sell brick oven pizza, which is very good. They have entertainment and also you can rent the tent for events. Interestingly, their grapevines look pretty rough so I am not sure if they are just for show and they bring juice in to make their wine or not. This time of year, all the other wineries have their vines wrapped to protect this years harvest. The vines here are not wrapped and it looks very overgrown in some spots. Wine tasting is $2 for five pours.

The view, the view, the view! It was spectacular. The wines were delish. The service was great. We asked for and got an informative tour. The brick oven flat breads were to die for. I can't wait to go back.

I can see why people are disappointed. The pictures from the website give you the expectation of a grand estate. That's not what you get. The building/house is kind of cool from the outside. However, there was junk everywhere. Tools were laying out along with miscellaneous pieces of scrap wood. Shrubbery was not trimmed. You really only get access to maybe a quarter of the house that is shown on the website. I took a look around. I opened a few doors and peaked around a few corners only to find storage and junk. People say the view is great. It's okay, but they could stand to trim down a few trees and it would be better. If you want a view, go to Hauser Estate in Adams County. You can see for miles.I guess the food and wine is what matters and I can't say too much for that. We had some brick-oven pizza that wasn't anything special. I think I could have made that on the grill. I won't pretend to know much about wine. I drink a lot of it, but am not a connoisseur. I tend not to like wine from this area and stick with the west coast or south american stuff. I will say the Cabernet had a good flavor, but not a flavor that I relate to Cabernet. Service was okay, but nothing special. They offered no insight on the wine. They just really miss on this place. It has a lot of potential and could score easy points on atmosphere, but they kind of let the place go to hell.

We live about 20 minutes from here. Decided to check out this winery on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The road up to the winery is very rough and unkept-best traveled by 4 wheeldrive. We waited about 20mins for a wine tasting slot, but then it took about another 30mins to taste 5 wines. There was only one staff member running the tastings, selling bottles and taking pizza orders. The wine was awful- one smelling like sauerkraut! I was going to get a glass of sangria to drink outside on the patio- but then I saw the container of fruit that was added to each glass was full of flies! They have a beautiful venue there- but we won't be going again soon.

The wines were only average. The grounds are beautiful, overlooking the river. A nice addition to the winery is the availability of pizza cooked in a patio brick oven. The pizza was delicious. The staff could be better. The wine tasting took way took long for the small crowd that was present. And our pizza was delayed because the order was lost.

The building and view here are beautiful. I just wish the wine and staff were better. Many of the sweet wines were room temperature which might have had something to do with the taste. The tasting area was full, but the two women behind the counter could not keep up with anything, one in particular was flustered, kept asking people if they already payed, and had nothing to say about the wine. We did not try the pizza because I really just wanted to get out of there.

We love an afternoon or evening on the patio when thay have music or are faeturing a local artist. It has an awesome view of the Susquehanna River. The wine is okay. I can usually find one I like but some are very pricey for the taste. It is worth a visit!

What a shame they don't keep up with this place - unkempt yards; men's room out of order; broken glass, cigarette butts and trash all over the patio. Just clean-up and paint the place! This place could be SOOO nice with the gorgeous view of the Susquehanna River.

Went with friends on a quiet friday night. Ordered pizza at 7:15 pm and left at 8:45 after waitress told us at least 4 times that our pizza was coming "in 10 minutes". She was a bit defensive and didnt really seem to get that we might be annoyed about waiting 90 minutes for a pizza! View is nice but just sit in the car and look at it and save your money!

Beautiful place, we were able to visit the cellar, small winery produces about 10000 gallons a year. Staff was really nice and helpful and the owner was very cool and knowledgeable. I would say they are very good at fruit wines, the peach wine was delicious not so much the dry but those grapes are very hard to grow in PA climate. It was snowing so we couldn't really enjoy the property but if it was spring you could probably see the Susquehanna and the mountains and trees for miles.
