I've been here 3 or 4 times and taken the 7 1/2 mile kayak trip. Its an awesome time especially with a group of friends. If you can go on a weekday I would suggest that, this way you can relax away from groups of strangers. The only thing that makes this 4 stars instead of 5 is the guy who owns it. He's a smug, pompous man. The guy called us all down to the water to give his instructions, when we all got down there the guy proceeded to open a bag of chips, and eat it while we stared at him in silence......what the hell is that all about? There were a few more occasions where he was less than friendly but I won't get into them anymore. Thankfully I think he only paddles with you on special occasions like Laceyville Day. If you're looking for an activity to do in this area I would definitely recommend this though. Just make sure to call ahead a few days and let them know you're coming.

wife and i did a 7 mile kayak trip today. it was our first time with kayaks and it was great. floated about 7 miles, saw bald eagles, blue herons, and a variety of other birds. very picturesque. an easy trip, even if you haven't any experience with kayaking. boats were very stable. Brian was our outfitter today and gave us good instructions and was very helpful. we'll do this again. trips vary in length, ours lasted about 2 1/2 hours on the river, with shuttle time, etc, you need at least 3 hrs for this, longer trips are available.
