My family loves to go out to Moraine for a few hours to bike, swim, walk, canoe etc... lots of shady areas to picnic and lots of tables. Bike trail is challenging with small kids but still doable if they are experienced on bike trails. There are also nautical boat tours on occasion and other programs

This park has beautiful locations for pictures. There is a lot of parking and beautiful picnic spots. The bike trail is challenging, but a nice paved trail. Could be a little wider in some spots, but still a nice place to ride.

On our way back to Baffulo from Pittsburg on I79, we had made the best choice by stopping by the Park, it's a hi light of the whole tripWe took 422 and exit by 528, planing to stop by for an hour, but stayed for three hours instead, was wondering if October is the best season to be there, the scenery is breathtaking around the Lake Arthur Don't forget to stop by if you are on 79

Located between Butler and New Castle Pa. on Route 422. This park has many activities including, fishing, swimming, kayaking, pontoon boats, sailboats, hiking, biking, and picnics. Great scenery for picture taking. Many winter sports there also. There are also cabins that can be rented.

Wonderful bike trails that are paved. You can see nature while you pedal. The hiking trails are shady and take you through some fabulous wilderness. Only negative is that the trail could use some restrooms/port-o johns along the trail. It's hard when you have kids with you and they need to use the potty.

Having grown up just a couple of miles from the park I always desire to go back to visit. The park has been kept in the natural state so you don't have the homes lining the lake like you would find in so many other parks and lakes. If you are looking for a great place to hike or fish or just relax in the woods and listen to the wildlife, this is the place to do it.

Rented kayaks on a a beautiful day. Very reasonable rates compared to city. The lake is gorgeous. There are also motor boats on the lake but they are suppose to follow the no more than 20 mph. You do catch some of their wake, but no big deal. We were able to kayak anywhere and everywhere on the lake. The kayak rentals are not the most comfortable but totally acceptable for two or three hours. No problems getting in or out of kayak, they have a nice launch pad that your feet never touch the water.

We were able to find a nice trail just inside the park to unwind from our trip. Wouldn't mind going back one day to explore further.

A great place to spend the day or weekend. Great family fun. There are bike trails, places to rent kayaks, paddle boards, and boats. There are beaches for family fun and places to picnic.

Hot fun in the summer time is the best at Moraine. My favorite is sit by shoreline with feet in the water and read my books. The beauty of nature and the peaceful presence of God in His creation is an awesome thing to experience here. Hope you come enjoy. Jim & Kathy Blake

One of the largest man made lakes in Pennsylvania. It is 7 miles long and has 42 miles of shoreline. Lots of good fishing. The park service only allows engines up to 20 horse power. There is a nice boat ride available on the Nautical Nature that is 1 1/2 hours long. It costs $12 for adults and $5 for children under 12. $10 for seniors.

Great state park just North of Butler. Has a highly rated disc golf course and a wonderful lake for sailing, kayaking, or fishing. Quite a variety of hiking trails and a paved bike trail. Includes a native plant butterfly trail and a working antique old well with a restored Bessemer engine. Hosts a Regatta the first weekend in August with lots of food, entertainment and activities for all ages.
