A great night outing. I'm not a baseball fan. Went for a special event occuring prior to the game. Love the seating...big difference from the "cliffhanger" seating in the past. It was just nice to walk around and take in the family fun.

I'm a Phils fan, so I remember the Red Barons Triple A team. Now they're a Yankee Triple A Team, not as great, but the facilities are great. Family friendly, plenty of parking, tickets are cheap, good beer choices...Staff is so friendly! Keep up the great work! They deserve raises, hands down.

Although it may not be the MLB, you'll still get to see some big name players. The breaks in between innings will keep the whole family on their toes, as they have many fun competitions and toss souvenirs into the stands. You may even get the opportunity to catch a home run or a fowl ball! The stadium is clean and people friendly.

There isn't much better on a summer afternoon than a baseball game - with a hot dog, beer and peanuts!! We love going to a ballgame, especially at minor league parks where access is easier and prices are more affordable - and our trip to see the RailRiders on a Wednesday afternoon in July was nothing short of our expectations. Great seat, super easy access and parking, fast and good ballpark food and friendly staff made our day perfect. Don't miss the chance to see future major league players and Hall of Famers and have a wonderful time doing it!

We visited the Poconos for a couple of days and discovered that the Yankees AAA ball team plays in the Scranton-Wilkes Barre area. What an affordable great way to spend the evening. Our top priced ticket was less than $15. It's a beautiful new ball park nestled into hills, very easy to get to and also to get out of at the end of the game. Free parking. We stayed nearby (we could actually see our hotel from our seats) so it was very convenient. I highly recommend a visit to this ball park if you're in the area. Bring your family, they seem to have lots of theme nights that are geared towards children so it's also a great family destination. We were also treated to an awesome fireworks display at the conclusion of the ball game. Excellent!!!

Check out the new digs for the Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the triple A affiliate for the Yankees. Stay at the Springhill Suites - it overlooks the stadium and is newly built.

We learned they just redid the stadium and it's a fun place to watch a minor league game. There's lots of seating options, so pick the one that works for you. The food choices are typical stadium food - not overly expensive, but not cheap either - may want to eat prior to the game to save some bucks (and probably eat better too). :) Enjoy!

This was my first visit to the remodeled ballpark. This is definitely one of the best minor league ballparks that I have visited. The staff was extremely helpful and there were plenty of knowledgeable employees to answer any questions that you may have. The stadium was very clean as were the restrooms. Food selections were numerous, well priced and much better in quality than most baseball stadiums. The setting is quite different than most ballparks. The architectures did a really good job giving you the feeling that the stadium is part of the surrounding mountain and large rock hills. The added trees in the outfield are a nice touch. In addition, the interior corridors are very spacious and gives you the feeling that you are walking around in Yankee Stadium with the color scheme and signage. The price of a seat is very reasonable and there really isn't a bad seat in the stadium. If you do sit on the first base/right field side, you will look into the sun for the first few innings during the summer part of the schedule. Unfortunately, when the stadium was renovated, they kept the original lower bowl and did not angle the seats toward home plate like many other new stadiums (for example Yankees Stadium, PNC Park and Coca Cola Park in Allentown, PA.). As a result, you must twist to see home plate as you move your seat location from first/third base to the outfield (just as you do at Citizen's Bank Park). Parking is free however the parking lots are not paved. You can expect the typical minor league entertainment between innings. This ballpark is a bit more laid back compared to other minor league ballparks that I have visited. They do a really good job catering to the baseball purist with the jumbo tron in center field and the large scoreboard in the right field wall. All in all a great place to spend time with your family at a ballgame. I will definitely be back.

Ordered tickets for a game OVER PHONE in June in late May since I happened to be passing through the area. I asked the person on the phone to send me tickets via mail, as I did not want to wait in lines when I got to the stadium. (reasonable request, right?). They said they would get them right out to me. Wonderful! Two weeks later and the day before I was set to leave on my trip I still had never got them. I called the box office, told them of situation, and was told that they would reprint them and leave them for me at will call. Now, yes, everything ended up being fine and they were at will call after I waited in the line I didn't want to wait in.So now, at the end of June, you would think I still would have got the first issue of the tickets, eventually, right? Nope. Only one explanation: they were never mailed out on that day in May when the person on the phone told me that they would send them right out to me.They never did apologize for that.Once at the stadium, having gone to minor league games at lower levels, I was expecting a little more from a AAA-level stadium. What it is, is fine, but it's no better then the stadium at the A-level team in my backyard. The crowd, close to a sell out, was absolutely dead and showed no emotion, and this was in a 3-1 victory. Very few even stood up when a home run was hit. I simply don't think this field, and perhaps this market is deserving of the AAA-level affiliate of the Yankees from what I saw but perhaps this was a bad example and it is usually better.

While many people used to complain that old stadium that stood in the exact spot felt to "major league," no one can complain of that now. The old "Lackawanna County Stadium" was designed to resemble Veterans Stadium, old home of the Phillies, since the Scranton Wilkes Barre Red Barrons were the minor league affiliate of the Phillies. But once the Yankees organization took over the team and changed the name, the stadium held no purpose what so ever. The team has recently changed their name for the second time in recent years and is now known as the Scranton Wilkes Barre RailRiders (due to the history of the railway in the area.) The stadium itself is honestly, now, the most outstanding minor league stadium I've ever been to and I've been to many. It no longer feels major league but is definitely the highest of highest classes of minor league stadiums. The prices for tickets are good. Parking is free. Food prices are typical for sporting events. But the activities for the young ones blow all other parks out of the water. If you're thinking about going. GO!

State of the art stadium with all the amenities one would expect from its parent New York Yankees. Excellent sightlines, state of the art scoreboard (for AAA baseball) and family friendly fun in center field. I assume that the parking lot will soon be paved (it wasn't during my June visit). The quality of the actual Scranton-Wilkes Barre Rail Riders team gets only two stars.

went with my wife. Fun to watch with activities between innings, All the seats are good. Only issue was at the box office. I had seen great seats available on line, but was told they were no longer available at box office. We got good seats, but so many better seats were empty!Clean place. Would go again with kids.

nicely situated, easy to get to, very affordable -- the stadium doesn't look very charming from the outside, but a great minor league experience once you're inside. If you're not a Yankee fan, root against the home team! Sizeable merchandise store with wide variety of offerings.

Good food, fairly priced, good AAA-MLB affiliate baseball, nice place to spend a summer evening. The mid-inning antics are typical - the familiar grocery cart race, beanbag tosses, contests, t-shirt tosses, etc. Big grassy berm in the outfield if you don't want a stadium seat. Free programs with score card, something you don't get at any big-league parks and not all minor-league parks, either.

Great place to take the family. Very kid friendly with kid zone games and bounce house. Prices were very reasonable. Game was exciting. Had lots of entertainment between innings. Staff was friendly.
