State park with beautiful scenery. Places to swim, bike, fish and hike. Wonderul for families. Sand along beaches is man-made but perfect for a trip to the beach minus the drive to the shore!!

My family and I have been going to R.B. Winter State Park for as long as I can remember. We enjoy it in all four seasons for its hiking trails, picnic areas and small lake. The lake itself is beautiful, but very cold and the fishing is not that great unless the lake was recently stocked with trout (sometimes in April). There are many options to hike a few miles or many more if you utilize the neighboring state forest lands. Maps are available at the park. This park also offers modern day use restroom and picnic facilities. Many of the picnic tables have charcoal grills.

This is one of my favorite state parks in the area, and it is severly underutilized. Everytime that we have visited this park, the are very few people, if any, unless it is a Saturday and the temp is over 80. It is such a shame that so many Pennsylvania residents drive right by their state parks, never using, never stopping, and never taking advantage of all that they have to offer. R.B. Winter is a short distance from Mifflinburg and within an hour drive from Harrisburg. The park offers excellent fishing, a sandy beach, many hiking trails and picnic areas. This particular park is nessled in right off a main road, easily accessible. If you are in the area you will not be disappointed.

This is a great park to camp in, go to the beach, fish, hike, bike, beach, swim, etc, etc. The only thing to watch out for is the lazy parents that let their kids go bonkers on the beach and don't supervise. Hiking is nice, though watch for rattlers. Great mountain biking trails too. The water is ice cold all year round so be prepared!

Took a picnic lunch to R B Winter State Park ~ sunny day, water was fine, peaceful on a Friday afternoon. Concession stand is handy is you want a soft drink or a snack too. Beautiful sandy beach ~ well maintained and very clean. Restroom also clean. Nice trail around the lake ~ All in all a beautiful retreat for a day.

This campground was one of the nicest and most friendly s.p. I have ever been to. The camp host came over to introduce himself as we were setting up and walked by daily to see if there was anything we needed. He was very informative when asked about hikes and things within the park. The park was beautifully maintained bathrooms and showers were practically brand new and clean. The playgrounds were stellar and a favorite of the kids. There was at least 3 that we found which was great because there was never more then 5 kids playing at one time. The lake and beach was small but beautifull. Too chilly for us during our visit but probaly great during the hot summer. We did go into Mifflinburg one day for ice and visited a few local stores. The Pompeli Soap store is great.

It's a nice park. They have picnic tables, grills, volley ball on the beach, nice bathrooms, bike trails, hiking, camping and swimming. The water is from a spring so it's on the cooler side.

The fact that our wedding took place here on the old stone bridge over 25 years ago is enough to show how fond my companion and I were of this park and still are. It's a fine place for picnics, hiking, and sitting still and listening to the trees talking in the sunshine and the shadows.

We have visited RB Winter on several occasions due to our love of hiking and being outdoors. Ample parking, clean restrooms and beach area. Plenty of picnic tables and several large pavilions for larger crowds. Hiking trails are phenomenal and can range between beginners to quite technical. Whenever we want to surround ourselves with scenic beauty and the great outdoors, we head to RB Winter (Raymond B. Winter State Park).

About 12 miles from Mifflinburg, this park offered fishing, horseback riding, hiking, and swimming. It was too cold to enjoy everything the park offered, but it was attractive enough tomake a return trim when its warmer.

We love the beach area here. There is a sand beach by a lake. I will say the lake is always freezing cold however. Our kids just love the beach and water here. There is a nice playground on the beach as well as a snack bar with bathrooms. Dogs are not allowed on the beach but are allowed everywhere else. There are picnic tables all through the park and a meandering creek and nature trails. Check out the dam; it's really neat also. We like going here because it is a nice drive through the country. You don't go through any urban areas, and we have no cell signal at the lake!

This park has excellent hiking trails, a lake with a beach, and lots of great eating areas. The bathrooms are clean! We loved hiking up to the Lookout, where you can see out over the valley and lake; would be an even better view once the leaves start changing color!

My husband and I visited this park a couple of weeks ago. It is a beautiful spot. I took our dog for a walk on their Nature Trail and it was an easy hike for any age visitor.

We've only visited the beach part of the park, but it's always a wonderful experience. We can attest to the coldness of the water, but we'd go back any time. The beach is never too crowded or too empty. The nature programs can fill up quickly, however; it was standing room only the day we went. You can camp, BBQ, picnic, play lawn games, sunbathe, and of course, swim here, and have a great time!

Nice bathrooms and they were actually clean (which is rare for parks). The park area is very big; long beach and lots of picnic tables. The only bad thing is that the water is freezing cold (even in summer).
