We have been going to the mountain play house since we were kids. Now in our mid forties we still enjoy the fun. Looking forward to future shows.

Went with a tour group to The Mountain Playhouse to see "Midlife Crisis". It was truly funny and spot on in so many ways. The performers were great and the songs made you laugh. The building itself is a bit cool. There was a draft coming from open doors, but the seating as was comfortable and since we had upfront seats, we didn't miss a thing on stage. Worth visiting.

If you're going to the Mountain Playhouse, be sure and arrive early enough to leisurely take in the surrounding grounds.Geese, swans, beautiful lakes and well groomed lawns compliment the rustic old Grist Mill that has been repurposed for more modern use.Americana has been beautifully preserved here, with the flavor of the old mill remaining throughout, and many artifacts of days gone by decorating the walls. We were there for a performance of "Driving Miss Daisy", and what a wonderful performance it was - superbly acted, and as true to the movie as anyone could ever hope for. Those of us with impaired hearing are always hesitant about what to expect from such a huge old open space - but I clearly heard every word uttered. We were long overdue for such a pleasurable night out.Thank you, Mountain Playhouse.

We drove from Greensburg and took Route 30. A beautiful drive through Ligonier and beyond. The playhouse has a very woodsy facade, rough hewn wood and mortar. The theater is spacious and the seating is very comfortable, if not a little tight. We attended "Driving Miss Daisy." The production and acting were outstanding. After the show we went next door to the Green Gables for dinner. I would highly recommend a day trip to the Mountain Playhouse.

My husband surprised me with a trip to Jennerstown to see a play here. After a wonderful dinner in the Green Gables restaurant, we went to see the play. Well done. The structure is an old flour mill and has so much character. It is an intimate theater that has an art gallery attached. The grounds are amazing and everyone was friendly and dedicated to their theater. The only down side was you could hear the cars from the speedway. I recommend going when the cars are not running.

The theater is lovely (wood beams, walls, etc.) with a very rustic, cozy feel. Every seat appears to be a great seat. We attended a Sunday matinee. The online ticket ordering is easy, and you can choose your seats. You might want to know that the back half of the seats are raised up - each row is has its own step - so you might not want these seats if you have any trouble negotiating steps. The front half of seats are easily accessible. The performance was wonderful and felt very intimate. We saw "Tuesdays with Morrie" - wonderful blend of humor, sadness, and hope.

During the warmer months of the year in the Laurel Mountains of PA, you can enjoy an afternoon (or evening) bit of culture within the lovely surroundings of The Mountain Playhouse. Over the years we have enjoyed many great performances (really top rate) of plays such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Ring of Fire, Sister's Christmas Catechism, Neil Simon's Comic Suites, Forever Plaid.....and oh so many more fabulous productions! You owe it to yourself to make this trip! And, bring your camera along because so many great pictures await you in this scenic mountain setting.
