These museums are amazing. The air museum has the largest collection of early flying planes on the East Coast. The auto museum is world class with a collection of about 70 magnificent cars, period toys, trains, etc. and the collection gets rotated so it is never stale. On good weather days one can watch the antique plans flying. Lunch at the Sweet Shop or a stay at the towns inns adds to the overall experience.

High quality museum. If you're in the area to hike and the weather is cold or wet-come here! Gave our group the flavor of what life was like in Eagles Mere's heyday at the beginning of the 20th century. There's a bookstore and several boutiques, including one selling hand-made guitars and art and another selling wood tables and other hand-crafted items.

Great, great bookstore , appropriate for this obviously wealthy town.Very nice gift/women's apparel store where our female companions dropped some cash for very reasonably priced and unique items.Wonderful bakery with unfortunately limited hours, apparently connected to the Crestmont Inn. We wanted to load up with goodies and breads to take home and hand out as gifts, but they didn't open until 10.

Eagles Mere is more than a village... it was a destination that was 'all the rage' back in Victorian days, and is now a quaint town, well worth a weekend stay. I learned in the museum, that Eagles Mere has 250 full time residents, but the population swells to 1,800 over the Summer when many return year after year.... not to mention newcomers who come to embrace this magical little community. The beauty of Eagles Mere is embracing 'no hurry, no worry' so take your time and be sure to take in all the local sites from the museum (take in the model train exhibit on the second floor), small stores, The Sweet Shop for lunch or an ice cream treat, the lake (you can spend all day here with time on the beach, rent a kayak, canoe, paddle board, etc.), antique shops on the outskirts, and the hidden treasure I most recently discovered, "The Eagles Mere Conservancy" which you will see when you pull off the main road to The Crestmont if you happen to be staying there (see separate hotel/B&B review on the Crestmont). The Conservancy land has wonderful walking trails and nature, galore. Enjoy your time in Eagles Mere. I visit every few years, and from the time I leave, I can't wait to return!

Eagles Mere is one of the remaining gems nestled in the mountains. The town is unspoiled and very quaint to visit. From the toboggan slide in the winter (A+ experience)to the summer activities on the lake to special events in the park, you will not be disappointed. The people are very nice in this area, some locals, many season home owners and a great deal of weekenders traveling in from surrounding cities. This is the utmost of relaxation with a fun factor.

One large building with a novel little antique shop, museum, bookstore, quickie mart, and then another building with Art, and other items... A wonderful little town with peace and ambiance

It was a short walk from The Eagles Mere Inn where we stayed. If you like peace and quiet this is the place for you. The people where all very nice. The town is immaculate. Ice cream, souvenir shops and a wonderful museum. A short walk to the lake and a beautiful park to relax the day away. Glad to see towns like this still exist.

I love the store on the end that sells candles when they are on sale. I also love the jolly trolley gift shop they have cool glass products. The store that is on the other side from the museum sells great different things and cool bracelets, The best shop by far though is Moose Crossing right outside of town the owner is AWESOME she gets different items in a lot of cool things for kids also sells treats for pets and yummy food things for humans..

I've visited this park half a dozen times. The RV area has good sized lots, many with electric. Water is every so often down the path, so you either have to fill up or put on a splitter and have a very long hose. There are two dumpstations to use when you leave. The restroom/showers were excellently maintained and cleaned. There is excellent trout fishging in the Loyalsock and Little Loyalsock Creeks. Also a large swimming area is blocked off and it has a nice sand beach. Many good hiking trails and a geat scenic overlook. This is a very remote area amid sharply rising mountains. There is no cell phone service, no TV and (maybe) one radio station. So, this is for the nature types and not the techies.

Beautiful little town with a great lake and a very interesting history. You can certainly spend a day here...enjoying some hiking around the lake, grabbing a bit to eat in town, and enjoying the few shops. There is also a fantastic little museum that describes the history of the town. It is very well done!

The lake is lovely, the town is quaint and the people are nice. It one of the sites that we're worried about as it's in the Marcellus Shale play. Drilling may disturb the natural environment before long, so get here while you can.

The village of Eagle's Mere (refering here to shops and park) is......cute. There's a bookstore, and several unqiue gift shops feautring items that you probably wont find close to home. Most a reasonably priced, and defintely aimed at women. There is a large Arts and Crafts Festival in the Park during the Spring and Fall. This probably attracts 50% of the yearly visitors. The scenery and the town are quaint and picquresce. Those looking for a quitet day of browsing and strolling will enjoy. Those looking for excitment and action will not.

The shops at Eagles Mere are pretty typical; we found the bookstore well worth a long browse; but the museum connected visitors center was really well done.

Several of the shops are not open year round. Went there off-season however was disappointed more of the shops were not open. Would like to go back again when everything is up and running. The shops that were open were well maintained, and very friendly people.

We walked around the lake, canoed on the lake, browsed in the bookstore and learned in the museum. The old houses are beautiful and remind you of a bygone era.You are off the beaten path and there is limited cell service ( a plus). .
