I rode the Colebrookdale Railroad during Christmas time with my family and was amazed at the rich history of the area. From Thomas Edison to the famous Boyertown Opera house fire this line really has so many interesting stories to tell. The volunteers were really knowledgeable and accommodating and with the exquisite attention to detail it really made the trip memorable. I can't wait to ride it again, and this time I'll make sure to check out all the quaint little shops in historic Boyertown.

The New Year Eve Train was neat houses still had their Christmas Lights On. The Valentine Express was a real treat with Champagne and cupcakes and strawberries dipped in chocolate, a chocolate train and cheese. Also a couple renewed their marriage vows and that was neat as a commissioner from Berks County officiated. It was a real nice night other then the snow after the ride. Nice and warm and the volunteer conductors and servers were very nice and helpful and the history WOW.

We took our Grandson on the Santa train and he had a wonderful time. I wouldn't just recommend this for Grandchildren, though. The renovations on the finished cars is exquisite. The ride takes you back in time and is full of history. They are in the process of renovating more cars and so eventually it will be completely new and gorgeous. Right now, it is a work in progress. Given time, however, I am sure they will have it back to its historical glory.

Valentines Day special (7:00pm)..Champagne & Sweets. We rode in the caboose, up in the sleeping area. It was fabulous...we stayed pretty warm. Conductors (volunteers) were wonderful & knew their history of Secret Valley. Ride was about 1-1/2 hours. Champagne & sweets were wonderful. Seeing the engine change was neat as well. We will be back!

We took our grandson on this newly opened restored railcar experience! He said it was "the best train ride ever!" The restoration is still ongoing but everything was an authentic experience. We went on the Santa Claus Ride and enjoyed complimentary hot chocolate and home baked cookies that were for sale on the dining car. And we stopped to pick up Santa along the way. He visited with each of the children. We couldn't have enjoyed it more and will definitely go back and support their efforts to bring back this railroad to the beauty of years gone by!
