We went here with friends that recommended it. My husband ordered the chilli to start, and had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I had the crab cakes (it came with steak fries and coleslaw). My friend had the apple cranberry chicken marsala and her husband had some kind of meat- it looked great- like filet mignon and it looked to me to be cooked great, and he ate all of it so I'm sure he enjoyed it. I tried the chilli and I didn't like it. It was spicy, which is fine, but had a taste to it that i didn't like, but my husband said it was ok and he finished it. I really wanted to try the mac and cheese- and that is what i should have had. They also have it where you can add bacon or lobster or crab meat. I should have tried that for sure! I love crab cakes, but didn't love these. They tasted weird.... they looked beautiful, but i didn't like the taste. The fries were lukewarm. I tried my husband's meatloaf, and i didn't like it, but again, he said it was ok. I couldn't place the taste i didn't like in it, maybe bacon?? i have no idea, but i didn't like it. My friend really liked her chicken marsala. Three of the dinners were supposed to come with mashed potatoes- they only had one order left, so our friends opted for other veggies they had. They didn't seem to mind. All in all I thought it was just ok. The restaurant is small, and we went on a Tuesday so it wasn't crowded. I could see that on a weekend it may get crowded. They also have a bar with a seperate enterance. The music playing wasn't too loud and all in all it was an enjoyable time. The front door was open though, and you could smell the cigarette smoke of people smoking outside wafting in. Kind of gross- but not intolerable. I did not some outdoor seating which looked nice, but we didn't check it out up close. i would go back and try something else. I'm in no hurry to go back, but maybe in several months.... Not sure why this is listed as an "attraction" listing on Trip Advisor?!?!? They also have a very large free parking lot in the back. A nice perk!

Went here on the recommendation of a local. Good place to get drinks. Pretty extensive beer selection, friendly bar tender, nice ambiance. The night I was there a guitarist was playing and it made the atmosphere all the better. It was a good vibe and the late night menu was average. I would return to see how the crowd is during sporting events. Cool place in the burbs.

John Henry's has a very local feel. Here you can get some of your favorite pub foods, including bangers and mash. They also have fantastic salads and awesome wings, the kind of wings that have a lot of meat on them with multiple sauce choices. Bartender Jim mixed and taps all your favorite drinks including several exotic brews for the beer fans. There are tables near the bar and separate dining area on the other side. Enjoy the food, drinks, and dartboard, too!

I was here with a group of coworkers from my summer job on a Wednesday evening from about 7-9. We ordered drinks and appetizers. There was a special for $5 apps and they were all delish! We ordered cheese fries with bacon, potato skins, boneless buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, nachos, and spring rolls. The drinks were good but pretty highly priced for their specialty cocktails, like sangria. I think it was about $9 a glass. The staff was helpful and efficient. There was two rooms for seating, the room with the bar which had higher tables, a few TVs, and a dart board, and a side room which had booths and looked more like a diner. It was pretty crowded for a Wednesday night and seemed to have a generally older crowd. I will definitely go back here for some late night food and drinks. I believe they serve food until 12.

I wanted to like their nicely fixed up back "deck". A little too closed in with cement walls. The smell of old cigarettes and smokers was a turn off. Staff was attentive and pleasant. Food has been pretty good (2x), but if I recall correctly, slightly higher than I was expecting for the experience.

We ate here for dinner with the kids and extended family for the first time in years about a month ago and had a great time. The food, service, atmosphere was great and our waitress was super welcoming and told us all about the kid friendly St. patrick's Day weekend on March 7,8 & 9. (our nighttime service was a solid 3.5 stars)We also saw they did a brunch on Sunday's which sounded good - so we decided to do brunch on March 9 with the kids.WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. I'm really upset because for our family of 4 to spend $75 on brunch (before the 20% tip my hubby gave??!) - for what we got was really upsetting. We walked in and they looked at us like we didn't belong there. We took a seat and the server didn't talk to us. It was really weird. It shows a bloody mary bar on their menu - so I asked for it and he made me a bloody mary- even though the menu says they give you a shot of vodka and you make it. That's fine - but when I asked him about it - he said nothing. How random is that? He didn't answer the question. Just silence. I just felt so unwelcome there for brunch. Like the waiter was so upset that we were ruining his morning. Totally opposite feeling of the dinner we had a month ago. I used to be a regular at Annie's - and was excited after our recent visit to John Henry's to be back there. But for what we paid - and the feeling of being unwelcome...it just kind of sucked. Also - it wasn't a kid friendly weekend brunch at all? I'm not sure why we were told it was St. Patrick's Day weekend for the kids. It was just really sad and now I'm mad. They should hire someone who talks to people - it's standard practice. I can't believe how we were treated for that much money. My husband and I work all the time to make money to pay bills and rarely take the family out for a treat like this - I'm just upset. Can you tell?!
