My husband and I happened up this bonafide zoo in an out of the way locale and decided to stop in on a whim. Since I am not particularly enamored with reptiles, I went to humor my husband, but did not expect to enjoy it. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it. It was a great learning experience and the presentation was excellent. The staff was very welcoming and invited us to watch feeding times, etc. It was a wonderful little unexpected excursion. We both enjoyed it very much and would highly recommend stopping by, even if you aren't a reptile lover.

Upon the recommendation of a friend, we drove 400 kilometres out of our way to visit Reptiland expecting to see snakes in glass cages, dusty boxes for lizards and that sort of thing. What we discovered was one of the best displays of reptilian creatures we have ever seen. Each display case was pristine and beautiful. Every plant in every display case, and there were lots of plants, had their own water supply system monitored from the back of the display. Every creature was monitored on a daily basis for the tiniest of bruises and or other ailments. The staff are so qualified in animal health it was ridiculous. This business is simply the best. So much so they are used by some of the largest companies in the USA (Geico as an example) and also museums and interpretive centres, to build display units, and move collections of exquisite exotic reptiles so people all over the country can see their wonderful reptiles, everywhere. Highly recommended.

This place is great. The kids had a fun time and so did I. The shows were just OK but the animals and their habitats were clean and very well kept. They had a large selection of animals, both reptile and amphibian. Overall, we spent about 3 hours walking through the zoo and watching two shows. The kids got a chance to touch a small alligator and a snake. My favorite part was the butterfly habitat. If you are lucky enough they might land on you.

This zoo is small and, as the name says, very focused on reptiles. You learn all about conservation efforts and the current status of all kinds of reptiles. They have very unique animals, like the Komodo dragon, and several lizards we'd never heard of. Every employee was able to answer our reptile-related questions. They have very knowledgeable and kind staff. The fee is reasonable, and the gift shop has lots of reasonably priced gifts. They even have a cafe inside. Great place to visit.

I have went there a few times. Kids love it, going to the shows help get the most for your money, the place is pretty small, but it's nice to not have to drive so far to visit a zoo and spend a few hours learning.

I am a frequent visitor to Reptiland. It's a great place with many educational opportunities. I strongly recommend reading Clyde's book, as well.

I have visited this gem-of-a-zoo a few times over the years. It's always a pleasure to stop enroute to the Finger lakes or W'port. the staff and Mr. Peeling himself always make you think that you are the most important visitor that day. Great photo ops with animatronic dinos. The two "lectures" were interesting and enthusiastically-delivered. A bit pricey, but understandable with the costs associated w/ a private zoo.

Visited with my teenage daughter and was disappointed. We paid $16 a person and was in and out in an hour. We didn't go to any shows and maybe that would have changed my opinion. There was a butterfly house but it was mostly 4 kinds of butterflies. Lots of those 4 but my daughter is a bug enthusiast and it didn't capture her attention. There was a nice gift shop.

Beautiful, clean facility with great care of their animals. It is not large but definitely great bang for the buck!! Staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Animals are healthy and well taken care of. Gives you a new prospective on reptilians!! Dinosaurs are also a fun feature and really impressive!! This is worth the time to visit!! ( said by one who hates snakes!!). Loved it!!

This is a great little walk through reptile exhibit. The grounds were very well kept. The animal exhibits were clean. The staff was friendly. The two shows that we saw were very interesting. Loved seeing the alligators being fed. Good place to visit - with or without kids.

Saw an advertisement while taking a family road trip to NYC and we were pleasantly surprised! The facility was clean and the shows were interesting. We enjoyed seeing the feed the alligators. The kids enjoyed touching the lizard and snakes after the show. The dinosaur exhibit is great for little ones, but adults and older kids found it to be pretty cheesy. It is a bit expensive to get in but if you have reptile loving kids, it's worth the money!

Was a little pricey. Great variety of reptiles available to see. The kids were very excited to see all the snakes and lizards and turtles. The dinosaur exhibit was pretty interesting however it was scary for a two year old. Very life like and interactive. Would stop again in a few years.

You may remember Clyde Peeling from his many visits to the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson back in the early to middle 60's ( well before Jack Hanna ) and this place has a load to see, from the biggest gator I have ever seen to the tiniest frogs that are beautiful. I had driven by here for years but want to bring the family here to see it together, it was well worth the wait !

we passed by Reptileland last year and didn't think much of stopping. This year, while at Knoebels, we decided to check it out. So glad we did. It's well organized, modern, and clean environment with great displays. The staff was very informative. my daughter recently bought a ball python snake and Anna, one of the employees, was very helpful sharing information on how to take care of it. We loved the dinosaur exhibit and the reptile show. We spent about two hours there. Some people complain about the price. There are huge costs in running a private zoo and they have to make a small profit. But more importantly, I can tell the way they take care of this place and the reptiles, they obviously invest the money back into the operations. You'll be glad you visited.

Our family (grandparents, children and grandchildren) was in the area for a reunion weekend at Knoebels. We decided to stop at Reptiland on the way there. It is a clean, modern facility and the half-hour show was informative, if not very polished. The kids enjoyed touching the lizard and snakes after the show. The displays are well labeled, the butterfly exhibit, while limited, entertained the family and the dinosaurs were a hit...particularly the spitting one. The only downside is the high price...much to much for many families.
