Impressive park and lovely place to walk along the river,depending on the time of year,there is a goose poo issue.Need to get rid of some of these critters,they will come after you if you get too close to them.The Fireman's Memorial is very nice.

Very nice community event every Thursday during the summer months weather permitting.No seating available, bring your blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the treats prepared by local food vendors. Some form of entertainment is performed.

Veterans' Memorial Park is the center of veterans' ceremonies and many other local celebrations. In the summer, a city-wide get-together occurs every Thursday lunchtime (Lunch By The River) including a variety of food, music, community events, and sometimes dancing or gymnastics. The spectacular 4th July firework display can be seen from this park every year, and the comfy grass provides an ideal spectator area.This park has a river frontage for fishing, boating, rock-climbing or bathing. Various memorials are dotted throughout the park, including a bronze bas-relief plaque in memory of World War II veterans, and a giant inscribed granite boulder dedicated to the Winnebago Indians in 1919. The park is populated with several majestic mature trees, and the flower gardens are colorful and well-kept.A great place for a stroll or a family picnic, with the beautiful Wisconsin River flowing alongside.
