Jack's Canoe and Tube rental has tons of things to rent and do! I drove 1.5 hours to come, and it was well worth it. The $14 vinyl tube is probably worth the extra three dollars, it looks more comfortable than the $11 black rubber tube. The water was very clean, with sand on the bottom in most spots, only problem was the drunk group of 4 people behind us who threw a beer can in the water at the very beginning. Expect to see some other groups who may be a bit more rowdy than a family, but overall a fun experience... Better than riding the lazy river at any hotel or waterpark. Took about 3.5 hours to go down the river. Only a 5 minute wait for the shuttle to take us from the office to the river put-in, which is down a dead end road on public access land.

Every year I make one or more trips on the Namekagon River and use Jack's services. As northern Wisconsin native I've tubed, kayaked, and canoed this river sometime using my own gear and sometimes renting from Jack's. Most often I now bring my own kayaks and use Jack's shuttle service. You can call ahead for prices. They're offering standup paddle boards this year as well. The river is clear and generally 2-3 feet deep. Most of the river has sandy bottom, but you'll want river footgear for rocky areas if necessary. Old sneakers will do. This is the river I use to introduce friends of all ages to river paddling/floating. Small riffles give a little fast water excitement for newbies and non-swimmers, but keep things safe and manageable. The wilderness feel of this National Scenic Waterway is something most everyone enjoys.Tell the staff at Jack's what kind of experience you're looking for and how long you want to be on the river and they'll arrange a trip that will work best for you. If you want to stay dry most of the time, take a kayak or canoe. You'd still have opportunity to get out and take a dip, but not have to be in the water the entire time as you would while tubing.Jack's has portable toilets, changing rooms, ice cream, and shirts/sweatshirts for sale. If you read a previous entry, DO NOT take a scissors to cut apart the ropes if you've tied tubes together. It's irresponsible to take sharp objects that could end up on the bottom of the river and it is damaging to the rental property (ropes).Enjoy the flow!

Okay; I'm from Florida, so this was SOOOO cold for me,and the sun was barely out. It was nice, but got a little boring. If I went again, I'd have rented a kayak; stay dry and out of the bushes.

We had a blast! We had a group of thirteen and we rented canoes for the day. What a great deal. $25 per canoe plus $14 for the entire group to get shuttled up river. We had a great day. If it's a nice day make sure you get there early. This place gets busy. I will say the top part of the river is way more fun. Once you get to the point that the tubers put in there are a bunch of rowdy groups and it's tough to paddle around them all. We stopped at one of many primitive campsites along the way to eat lunch. The river is pretty shallow. It's usually only a couple feet deep which made the kids feel much more secure. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Can't say enough about how friendly and amazing the staff are! Beautiful river! Around every corner of the river there is something new to see! Tip: Bring water shoes or wear tennis shoes as some shallow areas have slippery rocks. Bring a lunch and take your time! My only tip for Jack's is to have scissors handy at the landing so we can cut our tied tubes apart after floating. Jack's does provide free ropes to use! If you don't float with this wonderful outfitter, you are missing out! Thanks, Jacks!

I love tubing through Jacks! It's always an incredibly fun adventure. =} I've always stuck with the classic black tube, and I love that it allows you to be further down in the water. I think I'd like to try the vinyl tubes next time just to see the difference. I think one thing I noticed was that no one on the vinyl tubes seemed to get stuck on the rocks. So I'm kind of curious as to what the differences are between the classic black rubber tubes, & the new colorful vinyl tubes. =} I'm sure either way you go it's still an amazing time!

Another great trip down the Namekagon River with Jack's Canoe & Tube Rental. We tubed from Earl to Trego in the vinyl tubes with the cup holders. Very nice and comfortable. Remember to bring cans as glass is not allowed on the river.

We canoed the Namekogan river from Springbrook landing back to Jack's for a trip of roughly 11 miles or 6 and 1/2 hours on the water. We encountered some mild rapids in the beginning of the trip, but after that it was smooth canoeing. What a peaceful trip with many picnic area stops along the way. We encounter a deer, bald eagle, ducks, cranes and even caught 4 decent smallmouth bass and 2 very nice northern pike, all on ultralight gear and tackle. The people at Jacks were extremely nice and full of information about the river. The driver that took us to our drop off point was very friendly and helpful. If you are into the outdoors, then this trip and Jack's is for you. This will be a yearly trip for us.

My family has been canoeing the Namekagon River for 50 years. One of the landings is even named after my uncle and cousins. Its a fantastic river, very peaceful and relaxing. We canoe on the 3rd weekend in July, rain or shine, and hope to continue for another 50 years! Jack's Canoe Rental and Log Cabin Resort are the best!

Hi had to write to let anyone who is interested Canoeing the Namekagon River in NW, WI of a great Outfitter! My Husband and I have used their service twice now. The first trip we ended at thier private landing at the Business. This second trip they were to pick us up down river at the end of our 3 night/4 day paddle. The 3rd day we were run off the River by Mosquito's, and we called them asking if they would be able to pick us up in an hour. There was an agreed upon location to where they would meet us.....at a specific time and they were there! Thanks to them we have less itchy Mosquito bites to attend to now ;-)Can't wait to get up there again............with less bugs next time ;-) See you soon Guys!

We use Jacks Outfitters every year for our annual canoe trip. They are very helpful with planning and logistics. The Namekagon is a great place to take a vacation.
