Nice tour and you definitely get more beer than the $10 you paid for the tour. The gift shop is very nice and you can't beat the prices for the beer! Everyone was very friendly and the museum was very well put together.

My wife and I went to the New Glarus Brewery tour first, then heard about the Minhas Brewery from a local lady at a antique store in town, thanks to her we wouldn't have known of this secret Brewery in Monroe Wi. We had reserved a room at the Super 8 which is very nice to stay at and the money we saved on our room we spent on beer at the MInhas Brewery. The tour guide Jean was very informative and then the beer tasting after the tour was even better. Oh and they have FREE popcorn, don't miss this Brewery you get more bang for the buck. Next year or sooner we will skip New Glarus Brewery and visit Minhas Distillery tour first then the Minhas Brewery tour again.

Took my honey on a surprise day trip last Saturday to Monroe for his birthday. Stops on the list were Pancho & Leftys for lunch, then a visit to Minhas Distillery tour, then Minhas Brewery tour. What an awesome trip it was. I found a Groupon for distillery & the brewery. What a deal! Basically two for one, and to top it off, we walked away with free product/gift that was worth more than we paid. Where do you ever get that! At the distillery, we had 6 samples & each were given a bottle of pre-mixed marguerita plus got to keep our sample glasses. At the brewery, for the $10 for two groupon, we each got a pack of 4 beers, one soda & a beer glass. Plus, after you do the tour, you get 1/2 hour of unlimited tasting. I know we WILL be back!

This is a great place to go visit if you're in the area. You can learn a lot of interesting information and see how beer is actually made. Many large brewing companies won't take you down into the plant, but this tour does.

The Minhas Brewery has a great history. Until I moved to Monroe I had not heard of it, but now that my family from up north has toured it with us I am required to bring a case of Lazy Mutt back home with me! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and are always open for questions. Before and after the tour they give unlimited samples of beers and some other hard alcohols and rootbeer for the kiddos. You also get to keep a nice glass and they send you home with and assortment of beers and sodas for the kids. It's walking distance to the square which can make a really fun day trip!

My wife and I visited the brewery for the 11 o'clock tour on a Saturday in November. There was only 10 on the tour. The tour was great - one of the better ones I've been on. They start you off with a beer, popcorn and a movie to start with; then the tour itself. The tour guide was very pleasant and appeared quite knowledgeable of the brewing process and the history of the brewery. After the tour you get 30 minutes to sample as many beers as you can. They also give you beer (or soda) to take home and a glass. Not bad for $10. The beer itself is good, but not great. All-in-all a great experience and would highly recommend it - provided you're in a small group as we were.

For the $10.00, tour price, you get a great history of the brewery and the town. The sampler pack you get to take home has 1 bottle of soda, 4 bottles of different beer and a souvenir brewery glass. The sampling at the end of the tour has an extensive selection of their beers to choose from (they were all good). They also have a great gift shop with plenty of neat items, and of course their beer available for purchase. The Museum is spread out over two floors with really cool beer stuff from all over. This place is worth stopping by if in the area.

For the money, (half price with Groupon) you get a ton of tasting, a lot of history (second oldest brewery in history, and a great take-home pack! Start wirth a nice glass-full of whichever beer you'd like to try while watching a video outlining the brewer's history, then take the tour, and receive your 4 pack of beer, plus one soda and tasting glass, then proceed to a half hour of unlimited tasting to whatever is on tap or in a bottle!! The gift shop is great, they sell all beers and soda at a really great price too! We will definitively be going back! !!

My husband and I took a weeklong tour of Wisconsin craft brewers, from breweries, to pubs, to taprooms. At 320,000 barrels/year, Minhas was definitely the largest - in fact, calling itself a craft brewery is a bit of a stretch. But it was still a super fun tour and well worth the $10 cost. To start, there is a large gift shop and tasting area, also accessible to guests without going on the tour. They have the Haydock World of Beer Memorabilia Museum, which is 3-4 rooms filled with historical beer advertisements, and memorabilia from labels throughout the world. As a graphic designer, I was enthralled by the industry's art.The tour was excellent. We sampled a beer while viewing a video. Then our very knowledgable guide took us throughout the brewery, which includes several buildings. She knew the brewing process completely and was an interesting historian for the brewery. Afterward we were given a 5-pack of beer/soda and a glass, and enjoyed 30 minutes of sampling a great variety of their beers. To complete the trip, Monroe is a quaint town with interesting shops. The Minhas Distillery is across the street from the brewery. Outside of town is the Roth Kase Cheese factory and store.

My boyfriend and I traveled to Monroe from Chicago to tour the brewery. At first I thought it would be kind of boring, but we had a great time in Monroe. The brewery tour was very interesting, and the tasting of beers was lots of fun. And, we all received a Minhas brewery glass, 4 beers, and 1 soda as a complimentary gift. The gift shop has a lot of fun souvenirs too, everything from clothing to magnets, to beer and cheese! I'm so happy we visited Minhas (distillery tour and tasting was spectacular too), I can't wait to go back!

I actually visited back in June of 2013 and first joined the tour of the distillery in the morning and then came back for the afternoon tour at the brewery, with time in between for lunch. I was impressed with both tours being of good length and very informational. Both have nice tasting areas and were both quite generous with the gifts you get to take home with you. Also, prices of their spirits at the distillery are quite reasonable to say the least. And I love that blueberry soda!

We stopped in at the brewery while we were in Monroe on other business. Lots of history, merchandise, and of course beer. Great value for the tasting as well as friendly staff. We couldn't stay for the tour but it sounded like it would have been worth the wait, we just didn't have the extra time. A definite "go back again" on our list of day trips and next time, we will make time for the tour and the distillery.

If you read several of the reviews for this brewery stop, believe all the positive ones. THE best, most friendly employees and tour guide of any establishment. Sampling of their product is very generous and the tour is well worth the price of $10 that includes the gift pack. Their packaged product is also very reasonable and tasty. We did not have the same experience while visiting the Minhas Distillery (will write a separate review under their name).

Great place to visit. Tour starts in the tasting room where you get a full cup of anything on tap while you watch a well made video with facts and views of the brewery. Our guide took us around to a few different places within the plant. Maybe 10 stairs to climb on the tour. Not nearly as large looking as some of the other huge breweries, yet still 10th largest in the US. Tour ends with a wonderful gift pack with 4 of their beers, one of their sodas and a souvenir beer glass. Finish it off with 1/2 hour of all you can drink sampling of probably 50+ brews, sodas, etc. Chatted with some great people. Met the Brewmaster on the tour. Gift shop has many items, fairly priced, and all of high quality.
