Went with my husband on a weekend getaway. Plenty of animals to see and interact with. The goats chasing me down for food will always be a highlight, and can still make me giggle like a child!

Great place to visit with kids or just anyone. Lots of different animals to see… we loved the parakeet house…. I think they have more animals to see here than they did at the Milwaukee zoo. Only thing was the admission price was high. I know they probably must charge what they do to maintain such a nice zoo, but if it were less expensive we would be able to visit more often…. we have a vacation house there and sometimes people come visiting us in the summer… we often considered taking them to the zoo, but only did so once this year…. if the rates were a little more reasonable, we'd likely have gone 3 or 4 times. Still, good family fun. Not to be missed.

Ever year they come up with new exhibits. My son and nieces loves this place and to be honest so do I. I fed a giraffe a carrot in my mouth and my son still talks about it to this day. The bird exhibit is amazing.

This is one of the very few zoos where you can hold many of the different animals. They also have deer, goats, and turtles walking around the park with you. Many of the animals are rescued due to some type of injury from what I've been told.

have been going to this zoo for years but what I have seen the few times we went this year has made me decide not to return. The care of the animals is very poor. We saw many animal trying to reach water that was keep just outside of the cages. There were many animals that where very under wight. The enclosures are very small with little to entertain the larger animals. The condition of the animals was very upsetting.

I can not say enough about this wildlife park! We visit it at least twice a summer! The bird sanctuary is amazing and fun for every age! You can feed the bears a bottle of pop or the giraffes some carrots along with all kinds of hand feed for the animals roaming in this perfectly kept park! Plan on spending the whole day if you are able because there's tons to see! LOVE, LOVE LOVE this place!

Wow, a very interesting Zoo/Wildlife/Petting park in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Great for families of all ages. Animal are from around the world along with animal indigenous of the Northwoods. You won't be disappointed!

This was the most fun zoo my husband and I have ever visited! What sets them apart is the numerous opportunities to feed so many different animals and get up close and personal. The admission fee is very reasonable and you can buy packages of crackers to feed the goats, deer, and other animals that are approved for feeding. Our favorite experience was the bird house and feeding the parakeets with the popsicle stick covered in peanut butter and seeds. It was amazing to have these beautiful creatures land on your hand to eat and when some of the seeds fell onto our shoes, they actually covered our shoes to get the last of the seeds. How hundreds of birds can maneuver in the bird house without running into each other or us is beyond me, and, no, we didn't get pooped on either. :) We also loved feeding the carrots to the giraffes and giving the bears their "bear juice". We thought the animals were very well cared for (which is a priority for us) and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. We will definitely go back next year. Prepare to have aching cheeks because of all the smiling and laughing you will do!

We went twice in a span on of one week and spend 3-4 hours each time and kids did not want to leave (4 and 9 y.o.).The grounds are very walkable but there is a lot to see. They have picnic tables throughout.Admission price is worth every penny. Make sure to get a box of crackers up front and save them till deeper into the zoo- there will be many opportunities for unexpected feeding encounter- kangaroos, antelopes and more! The bunny enclosure and the parakeet cage were definitely the favorites. Feeding bears is a must as well.To comment on some other reviewers finding the enclosures too small, first of all most are as large as I have seen elsewhere and a good number of animals roam free. There were a couple of smaller cages, for instance for the wolves. Yes, we have a pack of wolves at our local zoo in Chicago. But we have never actually seen the animals! There is a wide space between the animal fence and where humans can stand and then a dense forest. Zoos are for people to see animals. So if we can never see these animals, what is the point of keeping them in captivity? That is even less humane- to keep them for keeping sake. I think it does more educational good if we can see them, learn about them and learn to love them. I think this zoo is wonderful and is a must see.

What an amazing little zoo for a small town! Very impressive. Friendly staff as well. We'll be back!

Quite expensive ($50 for our family of 4) admission, but the kids absolutely loved it. Our kids are tremendous animal lovers. They got to feed giraffes and bears! The bird house was a huge hit (screened in building with parakeets flying around freely. They hand you a popsicle stick covered in peanut butter and seeds and the birds eat from it.Then there are the beyond-cute baby bunnies that the kids can pick up and cuddle.I would agree with another reviewer that some of the animals seemed like they were in enclosures that were too small. But I feel that way about all zoos.

As a college student majoring in Wildlife Ecology and Biology I urge anyone considering a visit to Wildwood to reconsider.Wildwood appears to be stuck in the past when it comes to zoo standards and morality. Its animal exhibits are way too small often holding multiple animals in cramped conditions. There is hardly any regard for animal enrichment and habitat standards (I would hardly call concrete floors and metal bars a "natural habitat"). In addition, many animals show visible signs of stress such as constant pacing, panting, head bobbing, and sitting motionless for an extensive period of time. Zoos are meant to be advocates for conservation and to educate their visitors on the natural habitats and behaviors of the animals. Unfortunately, Wildwood has failed to uphold this message and has failed in their duty to provide proper environments for their animals. Wildwood is just another tourist attraction contributing negatively to the reputation of zoos.Zoos are growing to be so much more than what Wildwood is representing. I urge you to think twice about giving money to this institution, at least until it makes drastic improvements for the physical and mental well being of its occupants. Thank you.

If you have kids you will definitely want to head to the Wildwood. My kids love the petting zoo, feeding the bears (a must!!) and hanging out in the bird house to see if they can catch a bird! It is so old-fashioned that we feel like it is such a wonderful local treasure. Our kids are all older now and still ask to go! Thanks Wildwood for all the wonderful summer memories!!

My family and I visited the Wildwood Wildlife Park last week while on vacation in the Minocqua area. It was my husband and I, our two sons and their wives and the 3 grandchildren (ages 1.5, 2.5 and 5). This was day 4 of our vacation and the kids had grown tired of the lake home, fishing and beach. We did not know what to expect but knew we needed to get out and do something. We were pleasantly surprised. We arrived shortly after they opened and it was not crowded at that time. There are a lot of opportunities to feed the animals and interact with them. This was really fun for everyone. We especially liked the giraffes, bears and birds. We spent several hours and then went to the picnic area at the entrance and had our picnic lunch. Admission is not inexpensive but we thought it was well worth it, even for the 2.5 hours we spent there. My two sons who were not too excited about "going to the zoo on vacation" actually thought this was fun. It was different from the Milwaukee zoo we are familiar with.

It was an overall good zoo but for the price it was not worth it. Things seemed a little unorganized the paths were not groomed well and I have been to every zoo in Minnesota and Wisconsin and there are free ones that surpassed this one by far. Feeding the bears and giraffes were a fun experience and the kids really enjoyed it.
